Just bought me an original lg motion battery 3.8 volts since the guy at the metro store said i could mess up the phones hardware or something if i use the wrong voltage . I was wondering , im going to use the second battery after the first one is dead , therefor i have atleast a couple extra hours to do my thing . So my question is / Would that mess up my phone , switching back and forth between two stock batterys . Thanks in advance , ur help/time is really/highly apreciated .

Forgot to ask , would keeping the battery in my pocket do any harm . Do you have any suggestions of where i could put it when im on the go . Also , when im using lets say gta3 it gets hot if im charging at the same time . If i go outside lets say i have to do something and its cold . Could there be condensation , would it mess up my phone ?

Keeping the battery in your pocket does no harm. A pocket is a good place to put a battery. That's normal, the CPU and the battery are working at the same time so it will get kinda warm/hot. Um, no, unless you don't have a back cover. :D

Just make sure nothing metal or magnetic touches the terminals of the battery in your wallet or pocket :o

This, I wouldn't carry the battery unprotected in a pocket especially if you have other stuff in there that can damage it over time (particularly anything metal that can short out the contacts as mentioned). You've seen what happened with the Boeing Dreamliner due to overheated batteries, right? Those are lithium ion batteries, same type but bigger.

I keep a spare in my wallet which has a slot on the outside that's just perfect for this purpose. I actually have yet to use it, but it's there for insurance in case I run the phone down and don't have access to juice right away to charge it.

If you do keep a spare and don't use it for an extended time (like a few months), it's a good idea to throw it on charge to make sure it's still full. Li-ion's have a very low rate of self discharge, but they may lose a couple of percent over that amount of time.

As for getting the "wrong voltage" that's not going to happen. The single-cell voltage of a Li-ion battery is 3.7V no matter what brand it is. That said, some of the aftermarket ones may be of lower quality and might not actually provide their rated current output.

I have an assistant that follows me every where I go, she holds my spare battery. It's the only reason I hiried her.
