Root Spb Mobile Shell 5.0 prison break! lol

i runnig apex 1.4.1 with the honeybread theme and adw ex. i downloaded the spb apk. installed it through astro and got it up and running in about 30 seconds. didnt have a single problem.

its running fine. no lag what-so-ever.

agree with every one else about not having a app drawer.
 
instaled one says cracked, told it ok to register or whatever, hit the search button, got a black screen....might not waited long enough. not real worried about though.

Got it going. Surprisingly smooth with liberty. Yes the image is cut but that's because I use shoot new and have to shake my phone to get a screen shot.

found the other; worked on fission 261
wasnt that impressed.
should have kept the app drawer....all the screens with all the icons are a waste.
spinning is neat, but so what?
7 home screens that spin all the way around and launcher pro work just as good.

put the app drawer back. then allow the deletion of as many screens as wanted, keep the rest the same; maybe it will get somewhere.

may play with it more later but not something im all whoo hoo about....
 
No luck with Apex 1.4.1, those of you who have been able to get it to work are you on the "stocked" version of Apex, or did you have a theme applied? I keep getting "The device in not supported."

Thanks tried that and I am getting the same problem you had above. The error message goes away, but the screen turns black and just sits there. I can hit the home button and get back to ADW EX with no problems. I even rebooted and tried it again and ran into the same problem. If there is away around this great if not oh well. Always like to give every option a try.

I see some ppl can't get it to work while others can when they are running the same Rom. So far I have it CONFIRMED on THESE ROMS:

RubixBlurry 2.0
Apex 1.4.1
Liberty 1.5

Bare with me on this guys, as I'm posting all this from my X while at work.

***PLEASE KEEP IN MIND THAT THIS IS A BETA, AND IT MAY NOT WORK ON YOUR CURRENT ROM. YOU MAY HAVE TO TRIAL AND ERROR DIFFERENT ROMS OR VERSIONS OF SPB TO GET IT TO WORK.***


INSTRUCTIONS:

1. Install the app as you normally would
2. Once installed, hit the HOME key. You should now see spb mobile shell with your other launchers.
3. Select SPB.
4. You should now see THIS screen.

5. Select yes, and allow it to run. YoI should now see THIS screen.

6. When THIS screen

comes up, LONG PRESS THE MENU BUTTON. It should still be loading, with the ERROR COMPATIBILITY notice at the top of your screen.
7. Once its done loading, you should now see THIS

. Notice the dock bar has changed, along with the app arrangement. SPB is now running in the background. DO NOT PRESS OK!!! Instead, press THE search button, and IT will allow you to bypass the error.

It SHOULD now be working for you unless you aren't on one of the aforementioned Roms above. If you get working on a Rom that's not listed, please share. As always, help out the next man and pay it forward.

I can get to step 5 with no problems. It will just site there and the SPB Mobile Shell Is Loading box never comes up for me. I did a long press of the menu button and all that would happen is my keyboard would pop up. I let it sit for about 5 minutes and nothing would happen. Not sure if I am missing or doing something wrong.

Theres two versions (cracked/uncracked). If you have the uncracked one you will only see a black screen behind the "device not supported", but if you have the cracked vertsion the actual application will load behind the message.
 
got it to works and load fine for the DX Fission 2.61 BWC theme for 2.61.

One minor diffrence was after load I pushed search button a permission panel poped up I ok'd it.
Had the not ment foe device warning stll press search hard button again then pressed ok.
Had to choose spb from choice book not adw or lpp.
app started fine.

Is it keeper...........don't thinks so especially $29.99 like the MS version.

Sorry SPB your too late to the party stay on the Titanic called WP7

ps I used the 8.8 mb file I "found"

The first 5 steps are pretty much cake. It may be the version of the apk you have. I have heard some work and others don't. There are quite a few of them floating around the net. Try a different one and see if it works for you. Or try another Rom.I took those screen shots this morning on my phone while running it again.

Lmao!! Ouch. I'm trying it cuz I'm sick of the side scrolling BOREDOM of all the other launchers. And I've pretty much tried them ALL. But I agree, it REALLY needs some more work done
 
I'm thinking the cracked version gave me black screen and the other worked?
 
The first version I downloaded said cracked version on the download and was 8,368KB downloaded. The second one I downloaded was called Spb_Shell and was 9,010KB downloaded and worked perfectly.

It takes a little clean-up due to the apps not being in a app drawer, but so far no problems and it is very smooth no lags at all. I am going to have to play with it more over the weekend and see how it works out. I really like the weather panel, it is really good.
 
I tried 5 different apk's on my X with no luck...Just tried the 8.8 size file on my Droid running Liguid Gingerbread 1.3 and worked 1st try...Pretty cool launcher!
 
I just switched back to this to give it another try...set up my homescreen how i like it, and so far it's not bad....I feel like it might affect the phones performance slightly though.
