Help Speaker Busted

IDK if anybody else has done this yet, but I have already somehow managed to bust the external speaker on the back. It is horrible. Just wondering if anyone else has done this yet. :-(
 
How did you bust it? Because if it just blew for sound, that will most def be covered by the MFG warranty.
 
I think I know how I busted it. I downloaded an Air Horn App and was like HAHA check this out and was showing some friends. Then about 5 mins later I got a text and noticed my alert sounded distorted and sure enough the speaker is blown. I currently have one on backorder as a replacement because my screen has dust under it and the camera always crashes. So its not too big of a deal for me. But still I didnt think the air horn would bust the speaker, it really not that loud.
 
I have the air horn app and have used it at maximum volume. I think your speaker shorting out due to software should be covered by your warranty.
 
I had that air horn for like 2 minutes, uninstalled it :P

At least you can beat this one up a little since you already have a replacement on the way :)

Before you send it though, do a factory reset (duh) and see if the speaker works after that.
 
Yeah I was wondering if for some odd reason the factory reset would solve the problem. But ill do that after I recive my new phone. Just thought I would point out to others to be carefull with this app. I used it before with no problem, but after the last time is when my speaker messed up. I Have not dropped the phone or anything, and Im not saying 100% that the Air Horn busted it. It just so happens that is when it started to sound busted, and it gets worse every day. But like I said I already have a replacement coming, just thought I would share with everyone else that I have already managed to bust the speaker lol. I love this phone but man I have had problems with it from day one. Random reboot problem, camera always crashes, dust under the screen, and now this.
 
Just blew my second external speaker, using factory ringtones. I have no idea why this keeps happening. my wifes incredible is fine no problems yet.
 
Several nights ago I was staying out of town and didn't have the comfy hum of my computer to lull me to sleep. So I downloaded a white noise app to play rain sound while I slept. It was playing fairly loud, and nonstop for about 8 hours. My speaker still sounds fine. Strange that some are having problems.

mine went out about two weeks ago.. just now notified VZW of the problem. but they're taking care of it.

my mom got her inc a week after i got mine.. and hers is still fine
 
waiting on replacement phone due to busted speaker. hope it lasts and dont have any other known issues on new "like-new" phone
 
my first incredibles external speaker blew after 2 weeks of having it never had loud ringtones only factory , got my replacement and it lasted for 2 weeks and did the same thing now waiting on my 3rd incredible in a month phone is always holstered .. any ideas ?
 
Ok so I am back. The replacement Brand New phone's speaker is busted yet again. IDK whats going on. I hardley ever listen to music on it, I just get text or my ringtone. Thats It. Ive had it two weeks and now its busted again. Is anyone else having problems with the speakers?
