Help Speech to text

I recently got my HTC Inspire 4G. I love it so far except for the battery life. My question is about the speech to text feature. It seems to work great for the most part but sometimes I need to do some minor editing before I hit send. It doesn't seem to let you do that. If I try to change anything, it erases the entire entry and I have to dictate it again. I can move the cursor around as if it would let me edit, but when I hit backspace it just erases everything. Any suggestions?

i found the easiest way is to put the cursor where you want it long press then choose select text move the 2 cursors to highlight what you want to change then you can hit backspace to delete it and edit in that spot
