Root Speed Dial reassignment

I finally took the plunge and rooted my EVO via Unrevoked 3. I've installed Baked Snacked 1.8 and love it so far. I'm going to try several other ROMs after a couple days. Getting rid of sprint's force-fed bloatware felt like a small victory.

I haven't been able to find a solution to reassigning speed dial #1 and #2. Has anyone found a workaround?

How is it possible that this phone can do such amazing things, but...

1. Sprint locked speed dial #2 to their customer service
2. No developers can figure out how to unlock it

*2 is hardcoded in the dialer app. There's no way to change it. sucks, but there's nothing you can do.

The vast majority of cell phone users assign 2 to their significant other / spouse, and arrogant Sprint decides *2 is much more important.

If you flash a custom rom with Sense stripped out, you can solve the problem. Personally, I'm not a fan of AOSP (no sense) ROMs, so I finally caved and put my wife on #5. Oh well.
