Results of a Speed Test on 3G and 4G (both full bars, in Kbps):

3G: 1314 down / 751 up
4G: 8201 down / 2121 up

4G isn't official in my city, so it's not everywhere. I generally get 1000-14000 down / 500-800 up on 3G in areas where there is no 4G, which is pretty good. I've been seeing 5500-8500 up / 1200-2800 up. I got a little over 3 Mbps up on one test, but never again did I achieve this. It varies so widely because since 4G is not official yet, you have to be in a 4G hotspot to get up to those top benchmarks I quoted. Being on the outskirts of a 4G spot gets you in the mid 5 Mbps range down and in the mid 1 Mbps range up.

I don't think 4g is official in Orange County (CA), but here in Costa Mesa (like someone else had mentinoed) I seem to get 4g signals. It's a little spotty deep in the center of the house, but oddly enough, I get my best speeds while in a bathroom without having full bars. Makes me wish I had been outside.

You are right it's not official. But it's here you just gotta find it. I have a few inside friends that have told me the 4G hot spots. I have been Told NOV 5th is launch date for OC CA.

My speeds on 3G and 4G, have a pretty good 4G signal here in South East LA, drove to Redondo today and had full strength on the 105 fwy

i live in the heart of baltimore city. unfortunately, i live in an apartment facing inwards. i get ~1-2 bars of 3g signal and zero 4g signal. if 3g signal can reach me (and i live in the heart of baltmore) why can't 4g reach me?! cause the signal is crud.

That's odd. Whenever I'm running around/thro BMore I always get great 4G service, both indoors and out, especially near the Inner Harbor. I'm always going in between DC,MD, and VA and 4G service, for me at least, is great around Bmore, Arlington and parts of Farifax, VA, but tends to drop out right around Springfield, VA.

my phone seems like it crawls .. Just did a speed test .. Full bars 3g DI18 ... 1037 down 76 up ... Same location 5 minutes ago was 1320 down 192 up . Is this good or bad for 3g ... Damn u 4g folks got the life
