For our Geniusi here;

I know we have the CDMA reddyoh but is that Totally a *hardware* item within the chipset?

Or,

Can the type of reddyoh, say, BOTH CDMA and GSM be Set to the phone via OTR?

(I think I've asked this similarly before but not quite like this.)

cdma and gsm are technologies that are built into the phone and cannot be changed by software or anything like that.

Its hardware!!!!!!!!!!

There are devices that are both CDMA & GSM, but not on Metro, and not for $200 or less.
