Remember to nand backup if you want to revert back or if something goes wrong! Screenshot at the end.

REQUIREMENTS: Rooted (s-off) and hboot version 0.76 (check the next post on how to obtain)

http://www.mediafire.com/?u2judbdu6u237c0

Step 1: Download the zip, unzip the file, place the splash.raw565 file into your android sdk tools folder on your computer.

Step 2: Connect your phone to your computer via USB. Power on (hold volume key down while turning on) or reboot into bootloader, then select Fastboot. You should see Fastboot USB. To verify that your computer is recognizing your phone type the following in Command Prompt:

Code:
fastboot devices

You should see your phone listed (Note my computer did not list my phone but I was able to proceed anyway)

Step 3: Navigate to your tools folder in Command Prompt where you placed the unzipped splash.raw565 file and type the following command:

Code:
fastboot flash splash1 splash.raw565

It will go through some motions and then finish. Now reboot through fastboot on your phone and you're good to go!

Nice !
Here are a lot more for anyone else interested in custom splash screens.

[Collection] Custom Boot Animations and Splash Screens
[Mod] White On Black Evo Splash Screen

Im currently in the process of modding the splash screen. I really like the second link because it not too crazy, i like simple, and its not bright ass fricking white like the one that is stock. Its so bright at night and in the dark so i like the dark splash screens that arent in your face while doing multiple reboots for things.

You need to be rooted, obviously (S-Off) and also you need to have the HBoot 0.76
I have HBoot 0.97
To fix the Hboot version (that is, to get 0.76) on your phone, you'll need to download the file that's inside this thread.

Don't forget to change the hboot BACK...I have had issues with nandroids not working that were made in other Hboots

for example my .97 nandroids would not flash in .76

.
After installing the splash screen, you revert back to hboot .97?

Also, i know about the nandroids being no good, but i found a possible alternative. In clockwork you can go to nandroid, then select advanced restore, and then select which parts to restore. There is an option for hboot, system, cache, etc. Select all but hboot.
I thought i read about someone trying that and it working... Would you happen to know?

Either way, can you just flash the Rom back on top, and then restore nandroid..?

Does flashing the rom restore hboot .97?

Thanks for your helps.:)

have never tried it that way. flashing the rom does not change the hboot. you would need to grab the hboot off of xda

Do you know where the link is to get hboot .97?
Im going to downgrade to eng for the mod, but i cant seem find the thread or a download for .97
Thanks

I been looking and am coming empty handed... Figures the one I posted for you doesn't have .97.. lol

If I may ask, is there any specific reason you would need to go back to .97 after downgrading?

That way my nandroid will work :(
I read that once you change hboot versions, your nandroids arent compatible anymore..
I guess it doesnt matter if i have to reflash the rom and reinstall everything and get it all set up again..ive already done it a million times haha

Oh yea... forgot about that! Ill keep my eyes open for it. It has to be around somewhere!

Step 1: Download the zip, unzip the file, place the splash.raw565 file into your android sdk tools folder on your computer.

I have one question, how do I create a raw.565 file? I have my own image that I would like to use as my splashscreen and have tried various methods of flashing/pushing etc. but haven't been able to get it to work successfully. The closest I have come is by using the PC36IMG.zip method. I have also used the nbimg method, but both of those come out garbled.

I prefer the method you show here over any other I have found and it works flawlessly with the file you provided. I just have to figure out how to take my image (bmp, jpg, psd, etc.) to raw565. I can definitely save it as raw565, but the image comes out garbled on bootup.

Any advice?
