I've searched and have yet to find the answer, so why are there no inverted gapps for sense based roms??? what technicality apparently makes this impossible, or so it seems??? would love to be able to have this on my current viper rom but alas my desire seems ill fated....TIA

I can't think of any reason off hand why it wouldn't work. Why don't you make a backup and try it out? If it breaks something just restore your backup.
Did you read somewhere that it won't work? I might be wrong but I just don't see why it won't. It's just an app. Someone just edits the original apk and changes the colors. Even unrooted you can sideload apps, though in that case it wouldn't help much considering they are system apps.

when looking over the inverted gapps options, in particular the ones by justin bean, it is stated that the inverted gapps are for aosp and CM roms only and that it doesn't work with sense based roms...in addition, my googling has not turned up even 1 inverted gapps for sense, and others have asked the same question as I and haven't found a solution. it seems to be a popular theme option, so it's surprising that if it is rather simple to do for someone who does such things like theming, building roms etc, that it hasn't been done for any sense based roms, or even as a mod to a sense based rom....at least according to all the sense based roms I've looked into...I'll keep searching though
the main reason is simply that sense roms have gapps included,there is never a seperate flash. there is no reason why a sense rom cant be themed with inverted gapps
So do you think if one were to uninstall lets say the stock Gtalk and side load an inverted one it should work???
It should work as far as I know. And scotty85 and Rxpert83 said the same. It was probably created for an aosp rom but i see no reason it can't be installed on a stock rom. It's just an app, unless I'm overlooking something I can't see why it wouldn't work on any rom.
Give it a try and let us know how it goes. If you want to be safe just make a nandroid backup first just in case. Nothing lost that way

Aosp and sense frameworks are different. Inverted google apps are possible,but you'll need to work with a theme guy(or learn to theme yourself) to theme a Rom. Once that's done,you can created a flashable package for sense roms,but existing aosp zips ones aren't going to work.
As far as deleting stock .apks,then installing inverted ones manually,that may work. Give it a shot... But as Brian said,make sure to make a backup.
you'll prolly want to check what permissions the stock .apks have before removing them. Sense is touchy with permissions,so you'll need to set the new apps the same.thanks for the answers folks...I tried flashing an inverted gtalk after disabling the stock one and it wouldn't flash...gave me an error message. I'm not familiar with setting permissions and such, so I'm not gonna mess with it any further. may try finding a themer and seeing if it would be a PIA to create inverted gapps for sense roms...I'm sure plenty of people would appreciate it as a big win....

checking permissions is simple. assuming youre deleting apps with a root only file manager,like root explorer,just long press on the app before you delete it. tap permissions. this will open a 3x3 grid showing the apps permissions. just make note of where the checkmarks are,then after installing the app,go back and do the same thing,and move all the checkmarks to the same spots. tap ok,back out of your file manager and reboot the phone. hopefully the inverted app will work
