Root [Sprint/Cricket] Jellybean bro?!

To get wallet to work as a supported device: Force close GWallet, open SU (or SuperSU), temp unroot (or disable root in SuperSU), then boot GWallet again. It'll be a supported device and then you can turn root back on.

I used GWallet yesterday on the leak and it worked just fine.

I had to clear data as well. But thanks again!

Just make sure to disable root before you run it. If you don't have an autostart app that will prevent it from auto-loading on boot, you'll have to force close it after every boot and repeat the cycle. Because if root is enabled when you boot up the phone, it'll detect root even though you didn't launch wallet.

Just little things you have to pay attention to.

Before with stock root, i was high 4700 to low 4800(if i remember right).... On antutu. I don't remember with quadrant, but thats what I'm using, though not all animations show. Still. Me like seeing those phones/tablet under me!

I appreciate The credit Op. I can't wait to try out this rom. But I got to root first, does anyone know if sprints latest ota will cause me any trouble while rooting? i Dont want to hijack the thread however so feel free to pm me

If you're referring to LI3, no it's fine. It's an official OTA. If you're referring to LIF (the JB leak), there are a few bugs ppl are experiencing. I myself had the SOD (screen of death as named by XDA members :p) where my phone freezes and is black on waking up the lock screen even after a clean install (wipe cache, dalvik, factory reset, and system 3x's each).

Some people dirty flashed and experienced more issues.

Lol. Dirty flash.... I did that, no wiping of data. Just cache and dalvik. Running good so far with a few bugs. But im liking it.

As far as rooting, i doubt you'll experience any problems unless you try and flash gsm or international roms/img's

Can't wait for someone to smother some special sauce on this "official" leaked rom. I see beautiful things in the future!

thanks for the help guys, i have some experience with rooting so i know as long as i follow directions and nand ill be fine.... now back to the rom, how well are you guys getting along with google now? i can't wait to try out lol

When I used the ROM, Google Now was flawless. I didn't use the cards so I can't vouch for those but the search feature was spot on

So far so good. But I'm not 100% sure what to expect besides youtube video's from when they were discussing the launch of jb.
It shows giants and niner games. My weather. And local businesses. Haven't had one pop up when I'm close to the bus station. Still got to use it more or tell my bud to bring the nexus in so i can see 'normal' activity

But like i keep saying. I am really happy with it so far

Cool! Keep us posted with any changes and your comparison with the Nexus.

I've also experienced SoD, but I figured it was due to me underclocking via SetCPU when my screen is off. It only happened once.

For some reason, no one has been able to pinpoint how the SOD originated. For instance, people who clean or dirty flash still get it. People who underclock (in your case) and others who didn't (me) still get it. It's an AMAZING leak. The first leak I've ever flashed, lol. The SOD was my sole problem. Everything else worked well.

It's not my first time to the leak scene. First was my Droid X when I was on VZW. That thing had a new leak every 2-3 weeks. They progressively got better, though, and the errors that the community seemed to complain about just so happened to get fixed in the next leak. So there was a theory that they were 'leaked' intentionally to get more testers who test more aspects of the phone than their in-house staff can do. I have no idea if it's true or not, but I grew suspicious of this happening, as well. I also installed the various ICS leaks for the Evo 3D, but by the time the official came out, I had moved on to the GS3. Same happened for my Droid X, but VZW drug their feet for several months before releasing GB to the DX.

So, in case Samsung/Sprint are reading: Please make it so I can block phone numbers via the Dialer/Contact app like I was able to with ICS. Also, why can't I enable power saver or block mode from either the notification bar or the power button menu? Thanks!

But I do agree that, of all the leaks I've ever installed, this one is the most polished. It's definitely a daily driver. I can enable power saver and not notice any decrease in performance. With ICS and capping the processor via power saver made a noticeable effect with the transition speeds.

I have yet to have the SOD fortunately (lemme knock on wood) but this morning i am experiencing the signal fade in and out, but my data stays connected?! And stays faster then before... Though it drains the battery pretty fast with no signal and utilizing data OR wifi... About 1% every 5-10 min, before i was closer to 1% per 30 min! the norm for screen off still seems to be 0.5-1% per hour-hour an half.

Still, very much usable as a dd as you said. Sammy/sprint better be reading this! Cell signal with this new modem! First time ever i have lost it!

RAWR!!! and i seem to loose root!!!

I've read that the older radios still work with jellybean and I might try it myself.

lol, my eyes are hurting from reading through xda to find out if any modems will work, thanks! i'll be flashin l8 to see, had the best signal for me.

I've seen mixed reviews with the new modem. For me, in my area, it is AMAZING! I haven't lost signal at all. It even connects to my Airave better and doesn't randomly disconnect like LG8 and LI3 did.

I haven't used mobile data all that much to make much of comparison to LG8 / LI3. It doesn't seem better nor worse. I'll try it on my way home from work today. There are usually some rough patches for signal and streaming Pandora can get patchy in those areas. I guess that'll be my test run.

However, I do expect to see a newer baseband before JB is official. Perhaps if we see another leak it'll be slightly updated.

Edit: Now I see that the leak thread has been updated to say LIG is coming soon. Expect new firmware.

Further edit: LIG ...and LIH? I wonder why both are being leaked and that freeza is only letting go of the LIG version, for now. I guess incremental flashing? *shrugs*

i updated the radios and flashed the new jellybean leak and cant restore to my nand. Ive factory reset and wiped caches and even reinstalled the old modem zips. I could use a hand here :(

Did you try this?

[ROM]~[RESTORE]~~Quick Return to COMPLETE UNROOTED STOCK (LI3 or LIF) - xda-developers

If that fails, there's a way to completely reflash to LEN (release day firmware) by using Odin. Go to this video and download the links (and follow the video instruction if you need it):

How to Unroot / Unbrick the Samsung Galaxy S III - Latest - YouTube

Then just take all the OTAs until you're back up to current.

Thanks a ton man!! I was just hoping to be able to do it via recovery, but if it fails ill pray to the gods of Odin!! LoL!!

well, i finally am able to read this at home, but i dont wanna unroot... can i flash .zips via odin? or just tars?
