Root [Sprint/Cricket] my experiance with root vs. stock

just wanted to share my experience as i had it rooted for a day and just this morning reverted back to stock...

the email display (color) was different when i was rooted, background was dark grey and lettering was light, with the ics blue trim/accent, i guess youd call it? compared to the bland white/black stock.

seemed as being rooted, i couldn't utilize google wallet?! note at the top said that my device wasnt supported due to "modification" and actually wouldnt let me buy a pack of smokes at the 7-11! now that im back to stock, tis working again....

signal and messaging, now, idk why it would even mess with it as i didnt flash a rom or do any self de-odexing, but, my signal dropped to less then half the strength when rooted and kept getting network error codes when trying to text, also seemed to "prepairing network" every 10 min.

when rooted, the feel of the ui in general seemed to get glitchy and lag a few times while stock i have never had that problem.

i rooted so i could utilize tethering and themeing a couple of my stock apps, and maybe system install a few fonts, oh and that damn camera noise. but seeing as i can live without those needs (easytetherusb doesnt need root) i decided to unroot.

im just curious as to if anyone has encountered anything of the sorts when rooted also, and if you worked around it or?

Pre-flash new custom ROM, you are supposed to clear your Google Wallet settings. As for this lag you speak of, no experiences yet of this. What ROM(s) were you testing?

wouldnt a factory reset effectively do the same as wiping the google wallet info as far as whats on the phone goes? and with regards to the online acct, you could address that online with your computer

Theoretically, yes. In fact, I believe this to be a huge myth. It's also very possible that there is an issue with the ROM or even hardware related. Without much more details, it is really hard to determine what the underlying issue is.

It appears Freeza shares my sentiment as well: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=29646611&postcount=1

How did you experience any of these problems with just rooting and not flashing a custom ROM or flashing any mods? I rooted and didn't experience any of that. It was just stock everything. I'm still running the stock LI3 ROM and I'm rooted. No adverse affects.

I have no clue really. It was just plain stock rom that was rooted. I did the Google wallet clear. Uninstalled updates and reinstalled yet no avail. I know from past experience that no 2 devices are the same even if hardware/software wise they match. They can act differently. But the email being a different color had me totally stumped.

I might have a root permission finacky device? Anyways, I'm waiting to hear back from sprints email about swapping phones...
