Root [Sprint/Cricket] Problems Rooting S3/ Not a newb either

Ok so Ive been rooting for a long time now ... but an Evo 4g. I finally got a new phone ( Samsung galaxy S3 obviously) and I am having troubles from the beginning. I turned on USB debugging. When I connect phone to computer it wants to open up windows media which is weird i think ... but normal. I have to manually go in and find my card/phone under documents. When I find them ... it wont allow me to click and drag the files to root files into the phone or root of the card... it just doesnt drop the file in. I even tried copying and pasting ... but it does not give me the paste option after copying the file. Any ideas?

I had the same problem when I was trying to use the Evo 4G usb cable, once I switched to the Samsung cable that came with the phone I was able to put the files where needed.

So you should try different cables.

Cable issues are the #1 problem when it comes to using ODIN. Make sure you are using the correct wires, and possibly have an extra just in case.

I tried the stock samsung cable and had the same issue, i then tried an old heavy duty blackberry cable and my computer asked me to reinstall the drivers which then let me look at the device as 2 external hard drives. Files dragged, dropped, booted into download mode, exploit ran, flashed recovery, done.
