Root sprint ics ota evo 3d

I like this idea in theory, and I'm willing to pitch in at least $20 to help get this phone in the hands of a (proven) dev.

The main potential pitfall is that once a dev receives a free phone, they may feel pressured. There are always those who want constant updates and can be demanding, even when the devs are sharing their work for free. Imagine if those people feel entitled since they have money in the project. On top of that, there are some things that are just too difficult or impossible, just look at the Triumph with HDMI on CM7 or the camera on ICS. Imagine being the dev who receives a free phone but runs into an insurmountable issue.

That said, I am on board to donate. Just want to make sure there are no unreasonable expectations on the dev.

Yes good point, and I think by choosing the right dev we can avoid this pitfall. I was thinking agrabren, he's the one brewing up that devils toast, I don't really have any doubts they will get cm9 fully functional. I know nothing about development but I bet he could get that Rom on our phone pretty fast with a phone of his own. What were you guys thinking?(also I have not contacted any devs on this, and also willing to throw down around $20.

Koopa, Snake, you guys with us? We will not be pressuring for deadlines or any other actions to take away from the enjoyment of developing . Just a donation in good faith.

Update: just thinking about the original post, if Sprint finally updates its 3d users to ICS wouldn't they have the same hardware as us making it kind of ambiguos to buy a dev another phone??

..thoughts??
