Sprint Stores still in the dark...

I tried a bunch of Sprint stores today and none of them had any real information about the Note 2 and Thursday. They all said they "heard" it was being released on Thursday but no other info.

I'm really starting to wonder if they will be in stock and available on Thursday or maybe just that is when pre-orders start. You'd imagine by now (Tuesday afternoon) there would be some internal communication going through if it was going to be available for sale.

Hopefully shipments will come in tomorrow and things will clear up but I'm losing confidence that I'll be a new Note 2 owner come Thursday.

Well I just called my local store and was told, no preorders, no wait list, and no appointments to buy the note 2. She said first come first served but did confirm they would have the phone in stock. Guess it'll be an early day for me on Thursday!

Sprint stores typically do not do pre orders fyi.

The plan is to have them. Most stores should know tomorrow

The stores I spoke to have said that there has not been a lot of interest in the phones (based on individuals calling or coming into the store) so I'd imagine showing up Thursday morning would mean getting a phone assuming any reasonable level of inventory.

All I want to know if there's any possibility of the 32gb version being available. And if it is, will it be exclusively sold through Sprint or available through 3rd party retailers.

Nobody has been able to indicate any further information. Even the guys at the Samsung booth at the mall (that had a bunch of Note 2's on display and for trying out) didn't realize that there had been no indication that the 32 and 64 hadn't even been talked about as an offering in the US. So when they were rattling off the specs, they kept saying that it would be available in up to 64gb w/ a microSD slot.

I think I would've been perfectly happy, if Samsung didn't offer any bigger sizes, but since they do offer that in Korea, why the heck would they market it worldwide like that, when all versions wouldn't be offered worldwide. Just very strange marketing.

I kind of wonder if they don't want to offer all three capacities to draw comparisons to iPhone 5 prices. iPhone 5s go for $199/$299/$399. If Samsung would announce the whole lineup for $299/$399/$499 it is much easier to see the impact of the price premium. Instead offer just the 16Gb for $299 so it falls in the middle of the line. Wait a few weeks/months for the Note 2 to be out in the wild and then start offering the higher models for the extra premium.

I've just accepted that since I want my phone right away I'll be getting the 16Gb even though I would pay more for the higher capacity ones. If a surprise comes and I can get the 32 on Thursday for an extra $100 all the better (and if it turns out the $299 is for the 32Gb I'll just be very pleasantly surprised).

I'm actually planning on purchasing through Best Buy, not directly through Sprint. My only problem with being in the dark is that, I would have no problem waiting until November or even December to upgrade to a 32 or 64...but there's been no confirmation on any of that and there's not going to be a pre-order on the device. There isn't even any confirmation of what will be mentioned at tomorrow's event or if there'll be representatives from all the US carriers to answer this question (which is one of the hottest questions).

I'd be fine getting the 16gb, if that means no 32 or 64 until after the New Year, but if the 32 or 64 gets released just outside of my return/exchange window, I'll be really upset.

I'm planning on ordering from Best Buy as well. So far they seem to be just as clueless. Have you had any luck finding anything out about Thursday.

They just said that they'd have it on the release date as well, but didn't confirm nor deny that it was the 25th.

As of 3:30pm CST the of the few stores I've called there has still yet to be one that has received shipments of Note 2s. One even said that he has no reason to believe they will be selling them tomorrow...

Well how about that!!!!! I am just giddy with excitement I'm not the only one who received these same replies. I was on the phone early this morning and afternoon calling Sprint stores. They know absolutely NOTHING!!!! The best one is the chick who told me I was "mistaken"...(nice way to say wrong); the phone doesn't launch until NEXT Thursday.

What I find interesting, and please don't take this like I'm an iFan--this is just a consumer observation-- Apple can close their stores early the day before, prepare their stores (including employees) for stock and open up on LAUNCH day with enough devices to sell to several hundred people thru out
a gazillion locations.
Every single store I called also said they don't know what they're rec'g. "We won't know til morning." What the hell.....so what you saying.....me and UPS get their at the same time?

Also interesting, ONE store I called told me to "bring a chair cause there's going to be a long line outside" and he seriously sounded like he'd just woke up.

Hahaha...Ooh, if I was told that...I'm uber picky about customer service reps trying to "b.s." their way out of a situation that they're not sure how to get out of (or not sure how to resolve). If a customer service rep tries to tell me I'm "mistaken," even though there was an official press release from Sprint on the Sprint Newsroom website?...Ooh, for me, that's a letter to corporate and a bigtime chastising.

I have my Best Buy gift car in my drawer ready for tomorrow. I have 5 best buys within 5 miles of my house so hopefully one has them in stock.

Wow, I thought my situation was pretty good with 4 within 7-10 miles of my house...LOL. I have my gift cards in my wallet.

Did you sign up for Phone Freedom at the beginning of the year?

No, I don't even know what that is. The last phone I bought was my EVO 3 weeks after it launched. I only bought a $200 gift card. LOL O well.

I see that you are in Cali. Sucks about that added tax. I bought my Evo when I was in Santa Monica on business and got the sticker shock.

Funny thing is I bought an iPhone 3g in Cali a few year before and I never even noticed the tax.

Wow, they really didn't promote that well. There was a promotion around February at Best Buy. All you had to do was sign up and register your phone number through the website and, as soon as your account was eligible for upgrade, you'd have $50 additional dollars applied to your next upgrade done through Best Buy.

Yeah, the "full tax" on devices does suck. I didn't notice it until I purchased my Touch Pro from Best Buy, but it apparently had been implemented for a while.

I called my Sprint store and they did not know what their situation would be as of this morning but they did know after their 3:30 p.m. UPS shipment this afternoon that they did get some in stock. I will be there in the morning. I think those of you calling sprint stores need to be careful to make sure that you're calling corporate Sprint stores and not affiliate Sprint stores. Sometimes, it is hard to tell which is which. There is no affiliate store in my area that believes that they are getting these phones tomorrow. Most think that it will be next week. We do have one corporate Sprint store in my market and they confirmed the arrival of it today for sale tomorrow.

Yeah, I was hoping to go to the affiliate store since it is closer to me but they didn't seem to get them in so said I should check back between 12-2pm tomorrow when they get shipments. The corporate store did get them so I'll be heading there tomorrow morning.

All stores I call are corp.....gott'em on speed dial. :D

I think the popularity of this device is going to surprise the carriers; it seems as though they're not prepared for an onslaught.

Anybody in the east get this yet? I may go to a sprint store just to get accessories... Lol... I'll call all the local best buys for availability, but I'm not counting on anything.

Just got mine about 20 minutes ago! It is awesome! First impressions are it is lightening fast compared to the MoPho and even my wifes S3. Downloading all my apps now!
