Hi I am new to the forums but not rooting Droid devices. I am having a similar problem with my UI/touchwiz home crashing. I have a GS4 that I rooted about a month ago and I use Titanium backup Pro to backup and Freeze programs. Here is where I made my mistake using the ROM Toolbox Pro. I found a setting that would change the size of the Icons. It was set to 460 and it said default was 160. I changed it to 160 and now I am not able to get past the home screen. I already tried a factory reset with no luck. I have a question about adb. Do any of you think I would be able to change that setting back to default using adb on my PC. Or do any of you have any other suggestions on how to fix this? I am so pissed that I made a change without not fully understanding what I was doing.

Thanks .

I am using Sprint for my carrier.
I am thinking that my last option will be to flash the factory ROM using the program adb from my desktop. I have no knowledge if this is even possible. I am able to access the recovery mode screen and it boots to the home screen. But when I swipe to unlock it just crashes over and over.
I think I am going to need someone with vast knowledge to get my GS4 back up and working.

I have already tried the factory reset via recovery. The problem I think is the setting that I changed is on the stock rom. Correct me if I am wrong when you do a factory reset the changes you made to the factory ROM are changed back to default?

I would think so. I don't know what else to tell you but to find a stock, rooted rom, or another rom and flash it.;)

I see some listed here:

There may be another way, but I don't know:thinking:

I have factory reset my phone and ran CF-Auto-Root GS4-jflte-jfltexx-gti9505 again. The problem is the text and ICONs are so small that is crashes the TouchWiz and UI. I am not able to get past the unlock screen.I changed the ICON and text size using ROM Toolbox Pro.After I changed that setting I have not been able to use my phone. I would think there is a way to change the text and ICON size in the phone using a PC?? I have not been able to find any one that has encountered this problem.

Actually my understanding is a factory reset will only wipe your data (stuff you installed) and the stock recovery will not change any system files. You may need to go to the XDA forum and read up on flashing the latest firmwares to the most recent MF9 update and flash it with Odin3.07 Lots of reading cause then youalso need a custom recovery to flash the stock kernel then flash the rom then when all is said and working you can flash the stock recovery back. First you need to try and install a Custom recovery like TWRP.
Should never mess with System files without a Custom recovery.

Good luck

edit;
I'm sorry I don't do ADB so if it can be fixed that way IDK. If you already have Debugging turned on and it boots maybe somebody else can help u.
