Tired to use Odin followed the little guide used the .tar file but see to not be working right i hold the Vol Up and Power button it says recovery something in top right then goes grey and boots regular. Is there CWM out there that would be easier to flash or something i need to root this phone so i can use my SD Card! Thanks.

Same thing with me. I get successful flash with Odin but when I pull the battery then boot into recovery, it just goes to a grey screen, then the Samsung logo then turns off. I can't get it to go into recovery (TWRP)...

NEVERMIND!! I figured out what I was doing and probably other people are doing! As SOON AS YOU SEE the green text that says "recovery booting" let go of the volume up and power! I was holding volume up and power until I saw the twrp but it was just causing the phone to turn off..
so let go of the volume up and power button as soon as you see the green screen that says "recovery booting.."

hope this helps!!!!

sweet going to try now i was also holding it down because on the triumph you had to.

PS YES MAN YOUR AMAZING NOW TIME TO ROOT!!!!!!!!!!

Tired to download busybox and supersu didnt work the zip files didnt so i guess gotta look around more for a easy root.

Hmm..

Download another Superuser file. Maybe it's corrupt. Mine flashed in TWRP easily and root was achieved very quickly?

What about busybox because when i flashed that it didnt work. and when i flash the phone auto restarts its self?

I flashed it should i install super user to see if im rooted?

Downloaded Root Checker said Sorry! This Device does not have proper root acces.

Did you flash Superuser and then Busybox? I don't think it matters which order but that's what I did just in case. It worked easily for me. I just don't understand what you're doing wrong. You flashed both zips with TWRP and rebooted? Then when you try root checker or another app that requests root you should see superuser pop up asking if you want to approve root access for the requesting app.

I'm out of ideas now. Maybe someone else has any?

If you flash both, you SHOULD see a SuperSU app in the drawer. I flashed Busybox first, then SuperSU.

Try wiping both cache/dalvik cache after you flash them. See if that makes a difference. That's what I did, anyway.

Ok so Flash them then go back to CWM wipe Cache and Dalvik Cache then reload and the app should be there maybe?

Also i swear this thing is CWM i dont know why but it looks like CWM ok on The Triumph i have TWRP which is Touch Screen also when i start it it says TeamWIn on Triumph on this nothing lol but there is no wipe dalvik Cache but i wipe cache partition

No Dalvik...?

Go to advanced? See if its there.

If its under advanced...its probably either A) Not TWRP Touch or B) CWM.

Yea its CWM i did the .tar and everything WTF can i just flash TWRP.zip to it.

Probably. Or flash it with Odin. That may be the problem LOL ;)
Never tried CWM. I do know that TWRP will flash your Superuser and Busybox.. you're almost there! Haha :D

Any luck yet? I am determined to solve this! :D

Maybe I'll post a YouTube video on how to do it, but it seems you are following the steps exactly.

Again, I'm not sure what the problem is. I have flashed this recovery several times today and am not having problems. The JB update from both Sprint and Virgin have a file called install-recovery.sh that installs the stock recovery back to the device as soon as possible during the boot sequence. If the device even begins to boot into system, that file starts working on it before there is even any kind of video output. Auto-reboot is your enemy in Odin at this point. I will check the .tar later tonigth when I have Windows(tm) open to make sure it's not that. C-Ya fellas.

Look for the new OUDHS website coming soon!

Congrats on the website! :D

Yes i got TWRP to flash after you told me. When i see the blue letters let go of the power and vol. But i tired to flash the Root zip files like last week didnt get it to work.

Then it's probably a bad download of the zip files. Did you try to flash SuperSU linked in the guide? Don't give up :) I would just delete the files and redownload. If those don't flash then download them from another source.

I assume TWRP is sticking as your recovery now?
