Help spyware or just nasty stuff?

Good day everyone..I'm knew to the forum and frankly am a nuts and bolts guy...electronics are not my strong suit...that being said I have a Samsung galaxy note 3 SM-N900V 5.0 N900VVRUEOB6
All the symptoms point to the conclusion that I have spyware or virus or something...I went through everything I could short of rooting cause that's probably beyond my comfort zone. Here's what I found...btw none of the security software on the phone finds anything...
I isolated a file that came to my email that is now in the root directory of my phone
The name of the file is zesyby.exe and is a zip contains 4 items. I was viewing my phone files through my pc and the security software flagged it and would not let me open it...it classified it as trojan.dropper.gen
A few questions
1. Is this spyware because I actually have reason to believe this is happening
2. I don't want to wipe the phone just yet..if possible I'd like to dig in and see if I can find proof of the culprit...I am prepared to buy a new phone so it's no biggy what happens to this one

Any help is welcome

Welcome to our AndroidForums, Matt.

So you're saying this zesyby.exe file is on your Galaxy Note?

If so, there's no issue because that's a Windows executable and cannot have any effect on your Android device.

Can you post a screenshot of the file from where you see it on your device?

Also, what symptoms are you seeing that leads you to believe you have spyware/malware?

It is in android email and when I look at properties of the fIle ir says location root directory...parden my ignorance but I don't know what that means..
Symptoms
Battery runs down wicked fast..
Dara usage went trough the roof we have 3 phones on the plan and the data is all mine and I don't anything but email and very few text which brings me to the next point..my phone last month had 2100 text...I type about 4 words a minute..it would take me 24 hours for ten years to send that many text...the phone does some crazy things as well...get weird alien sounds when I'm on the phone...apps open on their own...the numbers on my lock screen turn to white blocks the back or not...

If it's just an attachment in your email and you don't download it, it won't have any effect on the platform your email client is on.

How are you looking at the properties of the file? (a screenshot would be worth a thousand words :))

Sorry for the delayed response busy weekend with tge holiday..you are correct funky logic I would very much like to dig as deep as I can into this...but do not posses the expertise....I am however very good at following directions and a quick study....if anyone can assist me in digging through my phone and seeing everything that's on it ...not just the stuff that is available to the common user....I would be most grateful and if necessary would consider employing this service if your credentials are legit...any help is welcome
