Root Stable or nightly ROM

Whats the difference between a stable vs a nightly ROM?
I am guessing a stable ROM has all the bugs and issues with GPS/wifi...etc fixed. And a nightly ROM still has some bugs.
If this is the case then why would someone download a nightly if it has bugs and other issues?
...or am I WAY off on this assumption?!

Stable releases they consider to be just that. Most of the things work and have no major issues with them. Nightlies are still being modified whether to make the rom smaller, theme differently, or possibly tweak some of the stable elements for speed. With the changes though can bring instability til they test them out.

yeah, what he said lol if your curious, just get a stable up and runnin the way you like it, make a nandroid b/u, then try the "unstable" ones lol i ran a nightly for about a month with no issues whatsoever, but each experience varies a lil from user to user... try em out
