Root Starting fresh...

Hey everyone, I'm just looking to get a fresh start with my phone. I did an SBF because I thought that would clear everything, but it just put me back to stock (although it didn't get rid of the Apex boot animation). Anyway, how do I go about getting my phone to as if I just turned it on for the first time?

Search forums or Google for "maderstcok" type it just like that its not a typo.
The thread with the .zip file is called 'update to .340 easily' I believe. Flashing the file will return the phone to 100% stock it even breaks root.

The reason you still have the boot animation is the same reason your apps are (probably) still on your phone; you didn't wipe data after sbf' ing. You can factory reset in settings to complete the reset.

I wiped, applied maderstcok, wiped, restored Rubix backup and I still have NFS Shift living somewhere on my phone. I wiped data, cache, and formatted system before restoring. Where it is, I have no clue. God only knows what else is chilling on my phone without my knowledge.

Point: Wiping clears most but not all of the nonsense.

when you apply maderstcok it leaves the phone as it was stock, so NFS Shift will be on there, considering it came preinstalled on the phone. I dont think Madden will be on there though

madden will show up with the maderstock. It was included in one of the updates, therefor its part of the .340 stock rom

I'm saying I wiped AND restored my Rubix after maderstcok and it's still there. I don't remember ever having it originally after flashing a ROM that removed it. It's weird.

Haha I have it. I flashed it AFTER I ran 3.4.2. Then wiped, ran maderstcok, wiped, restored backup, wiped, installed Rubix fresh, and still have Shift.

o maybe rubix doesnt remove nfs shift, i thought you restored a previous version, i dont think rubix removes shift, but i could be wrong (been wrong all day today :p)

I am going to have to go the madderstcok route also. My email service is screwed up and will not auto sync. I can manually sync my aol mail but after is syncs it says "connection error" . I went back to my "stock" backup I made when I first rooted the phone before I added or changed anything and the email would not even sync manually. I think something has crossed into another dimension from Rubix which occasionaly had sync problems for me. Btw, my phone is only a few weeks old and I believe it came with both Madden and shift. Madden could be removed in the apps but shift could only be removed via tibu or root explorer.

I did a maderstcok last night as well and NFS Shift was in my titanium back up as an app that had been backed up while on 3.4.2 to be restored. So I am wondering is there a chance that you restored it somehow when your apps were re-added?

If I remember correctly when you start fresh nfs shift is an app that cannot be removed without root so it will be there whether you have it backed up on tibu or not. I think it is just part of the latest update.

I DIDN'T have it on my Rubix. I wiped, installed 3.4.2. 3.4.2 was terrible for me, so I wiped, ran maderstcok. Then I wiped, restored Rubix. Then I wiped and clean installed Rubix.

NFS Shift was there the whole time. It's not really that which bugs me, more the "what else is there?" thought.

I haven't used TiBu in forever. I just let Google do its thing.
