There is only tmobile to choose from in the list of service providers...
Feels fine...
No real issues except Dolby

Adaway can't load it's host files....I tried using smanager to change the permissions on the system host files manually....But,smanager reports there is no r/w
But installing Adaway was a habit from the F6....
I don't notice it being needed....
I may try pure audio to see if it helps the sound...otherwise Pandora seems low

Have you tryed viper or does it require rw

no...
and the dl links for pure audio are AWOL.....
I'm looking at other audio mods....
I'm not in a hurry to botch up my install...
I already had to disable gravity box because some odd hack in it caused BUTTERNOOB to hang at the boot animation....
I'm not in a hurry to blame the ROM...
Some hacks aren't for everything...

Oh....I'm sorry to report...Dolby is indeed included in BUTTERNOOB...
But, cannot be initiated....

I'll have to look into that...

I have a question, does the 4.4.4 version of this ROM use the stock MetroPCS boot.img?

Yes it does but all the variants boot from the same boot.img's just fine. I have the T-Mo variant and it booted out of the box, no tweaks.

Purely cosmetic, don't pay it any mind. When metro users flashed BN v1.0 it said they were on T-Mo, and I'll have to find out how to fix that.

System r/w access on the ZTE ZMAX is nonexistant without write protection being disabled on the bootloader (very low level part of android, beyond my pay grade). Therefore, I have had success with Xposed, but Adaway nor Viper will install without system r/w permissions. When it comes out, make sure you guys download superbutter, which will have these apps and more preinstalled and already set up, so you won't need to do them yourselves. Alternatively, you can flash your boot.img to your recovery partition via adb shell and "reboot recovery", which will reboot you into the Android OS with system r/w permission (you just have to make sure you replace TWRP when you need to flash another rom).

Have you tryed viper or does it require rw

See above

The only way I know of as of right now to have rw is to use Masterchief87 modify twrp recoveries.
Just so were on the same page here, I didn't actually modify hroark13's TWRP in any way. I just put it in my zip that flashes the boot.img to the recovery partition while also flashing TWRP to the boot partition. The other zip puts both TWRP and the boot.img back in their normal places for when you need to restore a backup or flash a ROM. I have not decompiled or modified the actual TWRP.img in any way.

Edit: Also, the zips I've already posted will work with Butternoob V2 4.4.4 since it uses the MetroPCS boot.img

After figuring out how to install busybox so it'll jive with BUTTERNOOB....
I flashed the HTK sound mod that uses viper...But the viper driver refuses to install correctly....
I tried each version...But, after reboot...upon opening the viper app it tells me to install the driver...again...

I guess I'm lucky I haven't had to reflash BUTTERNOOB because I'm randomly boogering it up....

Sorry if this is off topic

Overall it's beautiful....
I know the tmobile thingy is cosmetic...lol...
I don't have O.C.D....it's cool...
I just noticed it after one of the xposed mod somehow messed with my data.....
HOW? ..I dunno...all I know is things went back to normal

Okay past the joking, this is a stock, rooted KitKat ROM for the ZTE ZMAX. The deodexed version would not boot, so this is odexed. However, this version is free of any King Related apps and I've also removed the little bit of crapware in the device.

WHAT TO EXPECT:

Removal of All King Related Apps
Pre-Rooted
Clear of Bloatware
Added Xposed
Added SuperSU
Removed crappy ZTE/Metro/TMO apps
Overall Clean experience

HOW TO FLASH (NEW INSTRUCTIONS):

1. Place ZIP on SD Card
2. Reboot Into TWRP
3. NANDROID (DO NOT SKIP THIS FOR YOUR SAKE)
4. Don't factory reset the normal way, go to wipe > advanced wipe and click "dalvik cache", "data", "cache" and "system". If you don't, you run the risk of getting an updater-script error (not from the zip, it's a bug in some TWRP builds).
5. New Step: Reboot recovery (in the recovery menu). It will ask if you want to install su, press do not install.
5. Flash the ROM
6. Reboot and rep Butternoob!

BUGS:

Free and clear, you tell me!

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:

Butternoob has been confirmed to work on all variants of the ZTE ZMAX by at least two people on each variant. THIS IS NOT SUPERBUTTER! For those that don't know, Superbutter will be a heavily modified custom rom. Butternoob was designed to be a stock, clean experience with solid performance. I may add tweaks, but you won't find a lot beyond the stock experience.

Thank you so much for both making these ROMS, and for directing me here via xda. Got this working flawlessly on my T-Mobile Zmax.

Now I have a couple more questions...

Now that I've got it going on my phone, I'm going to get this on my wife's Zmax. My question is when you say the ROM is prerooted, what do you mean by that? I already had SU with no king apps...

Next question is about band 12 and volte. How can I tell that I have access to these things?

Lastly, I installed the lollipop HD theme through the apex launcher. I didn't like that it changed your background, so I went back to the original theme. When I did, your background is no where to be found. How can I get it back?

That's funny, I have T-Mobile, and I got a message about service with metro,lol...

no disrespect...
if I can't hear it ring...I can't hear it to answer it...
everything else was beautiful...thank you

Just an idea... There are apps on xda for just that...

Also.. I think I may have found a bug/issue. My bittorrent speeds have gone from anywhere from 3mbps to 10mbps about 60 to 100kbps...

I know torrenting my be frowned apon, but I use it for legit means (its how my family shares pictures and home videos since we live across country... If you see my username... I went from growing up with all my family in Alabama, and I now live in Eugene, Oregon.)

No judgement here dude, replied to your message on xda

Lol, you were spot on in your message. I edited my post here to reflect as much. What do you think about the beats support and the Sony engine?

I would love to do Sony Bravia Engine, but the Viper4Android audio Engine is significantly stronger and more customizable than Beats. Just for kicks though, idk how to build one, but I'll probably just do an aroma installer to have that option for those, but that will be a little further down the line.
