Can't get it to recognize my phone being plugged in tried 3 USB cables restarting everything over n over tried drivers from the link an that girl drivers I don't have a micro SD in is the only other thing I can see messing it up please help

I got it frozen on the at&t fastboot plugged into all ports 3 different cords restart over n over my daughters phone is recogniz:oed when I plug it in so I dunno what it isn't daughters phone is a lot nicer tho I'm not sure when I load the run me n hit fastboot devices it brings me to the next line an wants me to redo the prompt now if I type "fastboot device" w o the s it says waiting on device

how do you know if you installed the drivers correctly? or if your cmd prompt is working, i have read on different forums that if the batch files runs and disappears quickly, then it is working correctly, but then how do you do the other commands if it disappears, do you open the command prompt and change directory to do the fastboot command?

Thanks. I got my first almost smart phone and then found out the U8665 comes crippled by Huawei, ie no access to the Android native SIP stack. So, after looking around, I found an xml file that was supposed to allow me to access the SIP stack, when I copied it to the root. So, I needed root r/w access and shagerty's hard work made rooting my first phone, drop dead simple and fool proof........thanks again shagerty...it went EXACTLY as your instructions and took less than one minute after I plugged it into my computer. I was afraid that the phone would be turned into a brick, but that did not happen and functionally, it is the same.....as far as I can tell.:) So, I copied that xml file to the system\etc\permissions directory and got NO JOY:mad:.......dammit. I want to use this stupid U8665 as a WiFi SIP phone to make AND RECEIVE calls over the WiFi, but cannot do it because there are no settings in the Accounts menu to let me create a SIP account.......oh well

Thanks again shagerty and all...... :D

This has been accomplished. See:

Would flashing a custom ROM give you the extra access? We have CM7 you could try.

hi, how do you unlock your brothers phone with this method?

I did all the steps, entered his IMEI, and gave him in the code specifically for his phone(we live in different states).

**Don't try to put your unlock code into another phone. They are device specific.

***IF THIS HELPS YOU HIT THE THANKS BUTTON!! ITS LITERALLY ONE CLICK!***

Rooting the Fusion 2 Step by Step, by Shagerty

Step 1 : Download this file here.

Step 2 :Put the Huawei Fusion 2 Recovery Root.zip on your desktop.

Step 3 :Download and install the Huawei Fusion Drivers. Install By running the .exe here.

Step 4 :Make a folder called "Huawei Fusion 2" on your desktop.

Step 5 :Extract Zip from step 2 into your fusion 2 folder.

Step 6 :Turn off phone.

Step 7 :Reboot fastboot by holding Volume Down and Power buttons simultaneously for 10-20 seconds.
(It will freeze at ATT logo. This is fastboot, it's a freeze to be happy about)

Step 8 :Connect phone to computer.

Step 9 :Open the folder you made and open the extracted zip (if you haven't extracted do this now)

Step 10 : Double click "Run Me"

Step 11 :Type "fastboot devices" and hit enter this will confirm if you are connected via fastboot (you are) if your connected it will list some numbers and letters and the words fastboot next to the numbers and letters.

Step 12 :Now flash modified recovery by typing "fastboot flash recovery recovery.superrecovery.img" into the "run me" window and hitting enter.

Step 13 :Unplug after the process runs says finished. And gives you the total time.

Step 14 :Remove back of phone and take out battery for 10-15 seconds.

Step 15 :Reinsert battery hold volume up and power button simultaneously until it boots into recovery (15-20 seconds of holding both buttons)

Step 16 :Reboot Device by selecting the "reboot device" option with the volume buttons (it should already start with reboot highlighted) so just press the power button to reboot.

Step 17 :Grab a beer and relax as your device reboots with SuperSU (main root app)!

Enjoy and thanks to robotic buddy for initial guide and download links, also special thanks to RFE for the 1st Root method on the Huawei Fusion 2!

*********IF IT SAYS WAITING FOR DEVICE, IT IS ONE OF FOUR THINGS;

1) YOU DID NOT PUT THE PHONE INTO FASTBOOT CORRECTLY GO AHEAD AND REPEAT STEP 7 THEN RETRY,

2) YOU SIMPLY NEED TO UNPLUG AND REPLUG PHONE AND WAIT APPROXIMATELY 25-30 SECONDS (SHOULD HAPPEN IMMEDIATELY UNLESS DRIVERS WHERE INSTALLED INCORRECTLY),

3) INCORRECTLY INSTALLED ADB DRIVERS, REINSTALL THE ADB DRIVERS FROM STEP 3,

4) YOU DID NOT NAME THE FOLDERS CORRECTLY, OR DIRECTED THE CMD TERMINAL TO THE WRONG FOLDER, MAKE SURE YOU FOLLOW EVERY STEP TO A T INCLUDING CAPITALIZATIONS, SYMBOLS, AND SPACES OF FOLDERS AND CMD PROMPTS*********
Worked for me first try thank you!!!

i called them one time to unlock a phone, if you're not on a contract or the phone is set to be unlocked, meaning it's not the latest/greatest, you can get a unlock code. if it is a newer phone, you probably have to wait a few months before they let you unlock it. i think you can google some sites offer unlock codes.

I had to create an account just to post this, it worked flawlessly. Bloatware free and wow it's nice. even freed up some RAM that this phone desperately needs. Thank you.
