if your phone is in fastboot, when you connect it to the PC, you should hear a connection tone.

Does that happen?

Will you please help me unroot my phone? I rooted it and it worked but now my phone is way different. The only reason I rooted it was because I thought I'd be able to get snapchat. Now I can't even access my app store period. Please, please, please. I literally just bought this phone yesterday so I'm screwed.

There is no unroot, but not being able to access the app store is not caused by you having root access.

If you want to explain your problem further, and want a quick reply, I'm in the chat room at fusion2.org

You don't need an account to chat..

I'm currently in there, and might be able to help you.

OMG, for the guy with all the problems, asking about linux, stick to windows and just right clik on Runme.bat and the under the compatibility tab, check run as XP and be done with this....

Just go into CWM, and do a Factory Reset, Then Wipe the Cache, Then Wipe the Dalvik Cache (this is under advanced in CWM). Repeat this three times. If you still cannot get into the play store, just go to settings and clear defaults/cache/data for "Google Services Framework", and "Google Play Store". That will get you up and running.

Hi! I have been trying to root my fusion 2 for days. My problem is that when I get to the part where you click to run "Run Me" the cmd window opens f-ing fast and closes itself, leaving me pissed off that it does not stay opened. I read somewhere that someone was having the same problem but I can't seem to figure out what the problem was. If anyone could help me that would be great. If I could get the cmd window to stay open after I click "Run Me" I could just go on with life but that stupid window won't stay opened.

Did you check your file associations for .bat files. I posted on page 6 of this thread that i had similar issues. I too was stuck for a very long time. I had a Windows machine i hardly used and some settings were not set correctly, but once i had watched the youtube video on how to root the fusion 2 i figured my file association was incorrect on that machine. Just right click it and make sure that the .bat files opens with the cmd prompt.

I have used this guide to successfully root my Fusion 2 and am happy with it. That said, I recently dl'ed "UnlockRoot Pro" and it recognizes my Fusion and asks if I want to root or unroot it. Has anyone had any experience with this? Is this thing gonna ask for payment? Can you "unroot" with this, after you have used this guide?

WOW, I am not normally into taking risks, but I pushed "unroot" and then checked using root checker, and sure enough, my Fusion 2 was now UNROOTED!! So, I ran it again and clicked "root" and it FAILED to root it, with the error saying wait til next version. The UnlockRoot Pro version I used was 3.36

Now I can only hope to re-root using this guide.......update later.....

Update: I again used this guide and the root went just like the first time....perfect and I checked with the two different Root Checker apps and YES ... my Fusion 2 is again ROOTED

Soooooooooooooo, I have learned that I CAN UNROOT my Fusion 2 phone.......but why would you want to? And that this rooting guide works PERFECTLY!!!!

Yes hi,
I'm having an issue at step 10. Up until this point I've followed each instruction to the T.
Now I'm given the option which program to open Run Me with. I've tried notepad, microsoft wordpad, and then command prompt. But none have done anything, as I can go no further, I can't type "fastboot devices" anywhere.. Help please.?

Here is how I helped someone else with a similar issue.

First, make sure the phone is plugged into the PC.

1. Open a command window
-This can be done on Windows 7 by pressing the start menu and typing cmd, or on XP by pressing the start menu, then run, and typing cmd.

2. In the command window press "cd " then drag the entire "Huawei-Fusion-2-Recovery-Root" folder and drop it inside the cmd window.
-mine looks like this when I do it cd C:\Users\Win7\Desktop\Huawei Fusion 2\Huawei-Fusion-2-Recovery-Root

3. Press enter and your cmd prompt will change to that folder
-agan mine(C:\Users\Win7\Desktop\Huawei Fusion 2\Huawei-Fusion-2-Recovery-Root>)

From here, you now continue from step 11... type fastboot devices and so on.

I hope this solves your problem, as it did his.

Have a good day :D

(Whether it works or not, please post back and let us know)

Did you experts know that all these good modifications are making the retail price of the ATT Fusion 2 INCREASE? LOL, Frys use to sell it normally for $79 and put it on sale for $59. Now, with the increased popularity, probably due in large part to the efforts of the experts in here, Frys is now putting it on sale for $69.

Rooting the Fusion 2 Step by Step, by Shagerty

Step 1 : Download this file here.

Step 2 :Put the Huawei Fusion 2 Recovery Root.zip on your desktop.

Step 3 :Download and install the Huawei Fusion Drivers. Install By running the .exe here.

Step 4 :Make a folder called "Huawei Fusion 2" on your desktop.

Step 5 :Extract Zip from step 2 into your fusion 2 folder.

Step 6 :Turn off phone.

Step 7 :Reboot fastboot by holding Volume Down and Power buttons simultaneously for 10-20 seconds.
(It will freeze at ATT logo. This is fastboot, it's a freeze to be happy about)

Step 8 :Connect phone to computer.

Step 9 :Open the folder you made and open the extracted zip (if you haven't extracted do this now)

Step 10 : Double click "Run Me"

Step 11 :Type "fastboot devices" and hit enter this will confirm if you are connected via fastboot (you are) if your connected it will list some numbers and letters and the words fastboot next to the numbers and letters.

Step 12 :Now flash modified recovery by typing "fastboot flash recovery recovery.superrecovery.img" into the "run me" window and hitting enter.

Step 13 :Unplug after the process runs says finished. And gives you the total time.

Step 14 :Remove back of phone and take out battery for 10-15 seconds.

Step 15 :Reinsert battery hold volume up and power button simultaneously until it boots into recovery (15-20 seconds of holding both buttons)

Step 16 :Reboot Device by selecting the "reboot device" option with the volume buttons (it should already start with reboot highlighted) so just press the power button to reboot.

Step 17 :Grab a beer and relax as your device reboots with SuperSU (main root app)!

Enjoy and thanks to robotic buddy for initial guide and download links, also special thanks to RFE for the 1st Root method on the Huawei Fusion 2!

*********IF IT SAYS WAITING FOR DEVICE, IT IS ONE OF FOUR THINGS;

1) YOU DID NOT PUT THE PHONE INTO FASTBOOT CORRECTLY GO AHEAD AND REPEAT STEP 7 THEN RETRY,

2) YOU SIMPLY NEED TO UNPLUG AND REPLUG PHONE AND WAIT APPROXIMATELY 25-30 SECONDS (SHOULD HAPPEN IMMEDIATELY UNLESS DRIVERS WHERE INSTALLED INCORRECTLY),

3) INCORRECTLY INSTALLED ADB DRIVERS, REINSTALL THE ADB DRIVERS FROM STEP 3,

4) YOU DID NOT NAME THE FOLDERS CORRECTLY, OR DIRECTED THE CMD TERMINAL TO THE WRONG FOLDER, MAKE SURE YOU FOLLOW EVERY STEP TO A T INCLUDING CAPITALIZATIONS, SYMBOLS, AND SPACES OF FOLDERS AND CMD PROMPTS*********

Can You make an UN-rooting guide?

I Did This Step By Step And Even Watched A Video On How To Do This But After I Do Step Number 12 It Either Says "FAILED" Or Gives Something Completely Different. Can I Please Know What I Did Wrong ?

I knew someone with a similar name (Xiomaraa) who lives in San Jose.

I don't know how she spelled it though.
