Root Stereo Bluetooth Issues

I've been having problems with the stereo Bluetooth "play/pause" button not working on my Warp Sequent (Stock, ROM, don't matter). At all. Well, it DOES make the sound u get when u press the button but nothing EVER happens. No play, no pause. Have to do it manually from my phone. Every single other button works perfectly, press sounds and phone interactions. I use the Motorola MotoRokr S-10HD. It's not my headphones cuz I've replaced them with new ones... Same problem. When I hook them up with my Motorola i1, everything is perfect again. My brother's Samsung Prevail... Perfect, no problems. So I've eliminated some possibilities, leaving only the phone somehow to blame. I contacted ZTE and at first they played stupid and told me to do the things I had already done (before I even bothered contacting them). Next, I kinda got mad and decided to call instead of email and passed me around to a few people before the right person (I'm assuming) got on the phone and said that "they are aware of the problem and was working on a fix for it" Now, my questions are: 1- has anyone else noticed this? 2- is this an A2DP program issue, Kernel issue? 3- does a kernel even HAVE any bearing on this issue? This is a real pain because when I'm out on a bike or sk8park I can't turn my music on or off without pulling my phone out of my pocket (a bad idea in both places!) Any ideas, knowledge, or possible fixes would be a big help (plus I thought I would let certain important ppl know before completion of "pending ROMs" to incorporate a possible fix in the project)

not 100% sure myself, have you tried a different music app? it may just be incompatable with that headsets command set, also it may be the phone isnt compatable with it, worst case scenario tho you may want to try a different brand headset, maybe the command set motorola uses doesnt agree with the phone. im assuming its probably a program issue, but it may be an a2dp issue as a whole in their rom. and dont ever bother calling them, thats all they do is give you stupid answers that you could easily figure out yourself and theyre always gonna tell you they are aware and working on it to get rid of you

Dang.. As for the app, I used the same app on both phones works fine on other phones. Zte stock player doesn't operate w/headset right either. This Sequent is my first try at anything other than Motorola but my all my family & friends have different brands/models of phone. This seems to be a ZTE specific issue.BTW, my headphones also say "universal" so I dunno... I'm clueless. Also kind of difficult to FIND a better pair also. 10hrs playtime, sweat/waterproof, 100'+ range, and HD (can sometimes hear the drummer cussing at other band members for instance, lol). I just can't help but believe it HAS to be fixable... Especially since you Debs are doing so awesome at fixing SO many other problems.

im sure its fixable, and hopefully cyanogenmod will fix it, we are getting close to solving all the wifi issues, then we can move on to something else, maybe ill push for bluetooth next :)

That would be AWESOME! Thanks man :D

the one i havent posted yet because it doesnt exist... lol. dunno what happened but somewhere along the line the build got messed up. when its ready you will all be informed and then youll be testing it though unfortunately it doesnt seem to play nice with bluetooth higher functions at all...

Thank you again, junkie :D. This is one of those times that you devs deserve serious props Cuz this new kernel's a bear to deal with and you guys are plugging away at it relentlessly!
I just can't wait to hear u guys are "finished" doing what ZTE hasn't managed to.. Fully functional stereo Bluetooth. When that happens I will light up every forum I can with your accomplishments. :smokingsomb:

OK. So Awesome Android's Apollo apk doesn't follow the same problems that Mixing does with warp sequent and functions correctly with stereo Bluetooth "play/pause' issue. Never had an issue before the Warp Sequent ...maybe time to switch apks, lol.

Shinru's Apollo app is working perfectly... Go figure, lol. Not even factory stock music app was 100%. ...Looks like it may be time to switch apps... :o

Just for reference, I'm using the Moto S-10HD's, and my main app for music is Spotify. It'll pause it, but won't start it unless Spotify is currently loaded (in memory I guess). My secondary app is Subsonic, and it works the same.

Stock ROM, Stock Kernel, rooted with CWM.

Sounds like an app/command issue.

bcrichster- have you ever had your bluetooth completely drop sound? Where it still appears connected, and the phone won't output sound from it's own speakers, but no sound comes out of the BT. The BT buttons even continue to work (play/pause, etc)....but total silence. Have to unpair, turn off BT, reboot phone to restore sound lol

Not quite the only problems I seem to have our once in a while it'll act like it is changing songs but another song just doesn't seem to appear to play I have to skip ahead another song or 2 for it to seem to correct itself but seem to have better functionality with Apollo an Apollo 1.1 with the upgrade package.

Wooowww! JB update fixed all stereo Bluetooth issues. Stock as well as other downloaded media players :D

I use an app called nexmusic pretty nice and Bluetooth works well also seems the developer Is working hard which is nice to see lol
