Steve Jobs: The man has gone nuts.

Oh I fully understand that and agree here, I am however stating that there is no way in the world that Steve&Co. is going to trademark the word Pad (it seemed a LOT of people where thinking he was trying to trademark the word...) or that he was gonna pursue anyone using the word Pad in his outside sphere of itunes Apps.

I would highly doubt Apple will pursue anything outside of the itunes apps sphere beside the obvious forthcoming breed of clones like "ePad", "mePad" and whatever combination of characters and words that includes 'Pad' (I have a feeling capital P in Pad is also the clue to the discrepancy with JournalPad, but I could be wrong.)

I'd like you to type in english, but we don't always get what we want now do we?
'we don't always get what we want now do we?'
I agree but whats wrong in asking.my english is poor agree again but i did'nt ask u i asked lekky ,so it should'nt have bothered u.

Wrong. Dead freakin wrong. Look at how many small companies steve went after after the creation of the ipod, many of them having nothing to do with mussic, and some even predating the ipod. How can you seriously defend this guy and this company?

Higher quality apps is a lame excuse. Code is code. Bad programmers are bad programmers. Period. Even the highly acclaimed firefox browser was NOT made in objective c. In fact, a lot of the big names use cross compilers, and they work excellent. If you don't see this is ONLY a power grab and a stab towards adobe you need to open your eyes. Take a step back and look outside the box for a minute. If you can truely support his guy, and apple, then your new nickname from me will be karl marx.

Edit:

Oh and pretty much everything in ipod/ipad/iphone - yep all stolen ideas. In fact, apple even stole the name iphone.

Because he is a true visionary in a world (hardware/software) which is ruled by technocrats.

So they put their lawyers on products using Pod in their name that was somewhat (not often directly) related. Still,

Yes, cross compilers are not only often use, they are needed when you'll compile something for a platform that isn't native. I can't say I see the relevance to using apples apis only.

How you do relate the "father" of communism with someone who support the general direction (not every action thereof) of a business leader who have been a visionary since the beginning of the 80s in computers and software? If you want to insult someone, try using a metaphor that actually can be used as a reference.

The iPhone name was used before Apple did it, but it fit the profile Apple have created (i(Pod/Mac/Life/etc).

And stolen ideas. Everything in the computer industry is in parts or whole stolen ideas if we follow your reasonment.

Apple took the technology of the day and put his vision it in, and you had iPod. There were other mp3-players at that time, some even better at something. but iPod was what caugt on because it was for most people the best package. Same goes for iPhone.

Apple and iPhone is there to stay, and they deserve their place in the marked. Just as Android does.

So I suppose your idea of visionary is someone who steals ideas, tries to claim them as his own, thens sues people for trying to use ideas that weren't his in the first place. Yep, a real visionary.

Just like macs, iphone and probably ipod are already being surpassed with better devices, and apple will once again lose its market share. History has a funny way of repeating itself.

And a general note: people can think they can hide under the guise they support android, but when all you post is pro apple crap that makes no sense, we know your here just to start trouble. To this I say shame on you. You don't see us trolling apple forums, so are you that insecure with your device(s) that you come here to start trouble?

Also, just because iphone fit their little naming scheme, does not by any means make it justifiable for to have used the name without permission.

Oh one last reply to you,

I own an iPod, bought it used just because it was the easiest way to get my Apple Lossless encoded music on the go. I own a Mac Pro and a Macbook Pro (as well as a laptop with linux) , so I am indeed a user of Apples computers as well. But when it comes to portables I chose Android because I liked the open platform (I like to tinker with things), the potential of Android (mobile devices, netbooks and even TVs are now equipped with it) as a developer. But I am provoked when I'm in a forum and the users see black and white. I defended iphone os because it was a game changer (yes, other oses existed that pretty much did the same thing, just not that good.)

iphone os had a great impact on mobile devices. You are free do disagree, but I'll not discuss this further), it is a great and easy experience and the app market however restricted it is to the developer has been a great way of connecting developers to the end users, and for the end users to find what they want easily. It took a huge step in making smartphones something less "techy", and helped with becoming a fasion statement it sold well too. But the users still are the most sadisfied users, which shows the marked responed well.

I still think Android has a bigger potensial in the long run beeing an open and free OS adopted by more mfg than Apple alone, and at the moment Android phones are more highly powered devices as well. But I can't see the need to badmouth iphone owners for their choice - it's an excellent one. I just wouldn't suggest buying one before iPhone OS 4 with the new iphone revision is out.

So that's my last iphone vs android reply to you. I like iphone os, but I chose Android. I'm no "troll", I'm just not a fanboy.

Now, lets talk android. Shall we?

Just our of curiosity, are they going to trademark the "i" next and make it so we all just have to refer to ourselves in the third person? Tater doesn't like this. Tater thinks Steve Jobs needs to get his head out of his a$$.

Even Apple should be added to the big list of evil companies.

Creating products at exorbitant prices and selling them in the name of innovation.

God bless their narrow mindedness towards open source and to hell with Steve Jobs.

There's this constant theme with Apple: always trying to create enemies instead of working together to create better tech.
iMac, iPod, iPhone I I I it's all about the I. Those crazy narcissists...

Usually I try to stay away from anything getting into the Apple/SteveJobs/i-anything debates, but this one really has me saying WHAT?

It now seems that Stevie is trying to trademark on "Pad". Not iPad mind you, but just simply Pad. This has led me to believe that the man is nuts.

See article.

Discuss.

TS out

No you see Jobs is just looking out for 3M's interests.

I wonder if Kotex (maker of Maxi Pad) will have anything to say about this trademark application?

Also does that mean that lawyers no have to ask apple for permission to use legal pads?
