I have tried EVERYTHING. I still cant get into recovery. Is there anything else I can do that hasn't been mentioned anywhere? Is there a %100 root method coming? Please help!

I have now successfully rooted 4 phones on 3 different computers. One Win7 32bit. Win7 64bit. And on my netbook with WinXP Pro 32bit. And with three different Sandisk cards that came with the phones.

No HTC sync
Modified the usb driver from the SDK to include the Incredible
Manually installed the driver in the HBOOT screen
SD card unclicked and ready to be pushed in
Highlighted Recovery
Turned on the loop.bat
As soon as the phone disconnects (listen for the ding) and the white screen should be going away click in the SD card
Then you should hear the phone reconnect after a few seconds
Give it about 15-20 seconds.... and you might get the error

Timing is crucial when that ding goes, I usually have the SD card inserted about .5-1 second after that ding goes.

Some times I can get it on the first try, others it was about 3-4 tries.... I just never gave up.

Morning,

I was having difficultly getting my droid into recovery. I tried all of the methods, I tried 1 gig cards, 2 gig cards, 4 and 8 gig cards. The way I got into the recovery was to hit the simlock on the bootloader and used the modified driver from the revolution team. Once I hit these it seemed to work every time.

MD,
Just download the Unrevoked Flash Recovery Tool program and follow the html link that comes with the package. It'll direct you where to d/l the modified driver and how to install. You're not going to install/use the actual tool until after root but you can get the drivers from the package. FWIW, I did this right before obtaining root. Only other thing I did different at the same time was use airplane mode.

Got the drivers. Now what do i do?

try running CMD as an administrator if you are using windows... I was having all kinds of trouble doing it, then as soon as I did that I got in first try. Then again on a second try.

I used method 2 from the PRS guide and clicked in the SD card right when it was recognized after the triangle screen. 16 GB scan disk card, class 2.

Ok. Then just follow what i've been doing, the sd card click?

Yeah. I know you've tried a lot of things so all I can say is mix it up...which I realize you've already been doing. :)

Try airplane mode with this combo too, can't hurt.
