Still Confident Bravo is coming to Verizon

I personally really love everything I've seen from the N1, but I will have to wait this one out. I like the fact that I'd be able to walk into VZW and play with it and know that I'd be fully supported by them...That N1 is still sooooo tempting though.... Late feb/early March seems so very far away. Hopefully this phone will hit here before it hits Sweden

The Bravo/Passion/Incredible could be something like the Hero line. Same phone hardware but different looking across carriers.

Honestly, I really hope it is as close to the N1 as the VZW guy makes it sound. If the N1 had an optical trackball and Sense it would be an extremely easy decision. Here's to hoping some info leaks sooner than later and the projected "Spring 2010" is also sooner than later.

Haha you have no idea! My VX8300 is almost 3.5 years old now, and has been faithful and to be honest I could not ask for much more from this thing, I love it. But thats the problem, I cannot ask much more from it. I am ready for a smartphone. But the 8300 has been there for me and been reliable and I have loved every minute of it, so I am not going to just pull the trigger and move on to any old smartphone, I want something that is going to be enjoyable to use. I will not settle. I was hoping that the DROID would be my next phone, but after spending hours playing with it, I just did not enjoy the stock Android KB and the hardware one was practically unusable. I was going to settle for it until I played with the Eris and fell in love with the HTC keyboard and the pleasant SenseUI experience. To cut to the chase, yeah I'm really really anticipating this release and hoping that it is going to be all that it has been cracked out to be.

so i got a reply from the vzw manager, and it wasn't much new info that we didnt already guess/know. heres the copies and pasted questions and answers:

-is the passion a different phone than the nexus one google phone?
-what company makes the passion? htc? motorola?
-how big is the screen?
-what version of android will it be running? 2.0? 2.1?
-i know theres no official release date, but, are we looking within the next 2 wks? 30 days? not til april?
-any word on prices?
-what color is the phone? what phone currently would you say it looks like the most?
-have you ever heard of these phones? htc bravo? htc incredible?
-any other android phones coming out in the near future besides the passion that you've heard of/played with?

1). Yes it is different from the nexus google phone, but only in subtle artistic ways. The HTC label is clearly missing from the Nexus phone. We believe that the reason it is not working so well is the T-Mobile network its on, and the bugs are not worked out yet. Thus the benefit of waiting for the Passion to come out on Verizon. So in a nutshell, they look very similar, except the nexus is running 2.1.

2). The passion is made by HTC

3). The screen size on the passion looks to be about the same as on the Nexus

4). By the time it is released in the Spring, we believe it will be upgraded from 2.0 and running the 2.1 like the nexus

5). Can't give ya a release date buddy, but all I can say is Spring, they usually let us know a few weeks before. I can keep Stephie updated.

6). if I had to guess.....anywhere between 299-399...depends on the deals and contracts

7). Looks exactly like the nexus one, still has that sleek black look and touch screen

8). From what I've heard, the Bravo is the European version of the Passion, nothing really different except for some of the physical features. Logo changing ect. Same for the HTC Incredible....these are different names floating around with tech geeks out there. All in all it might just come down to being named HTC Passion.

Alright man I hope this helps. All I can say is that new phones are coming out all the time with Verizon, and the system is going to keep improving, that's the problem with smartphones, you buy one and another comes out 2 months later with a better system. Its all about your comfortability with the phone.


so basically, the only info i pulled from here that might be useful is the spring release date, which would mean its not coming out soon like we've heard from other stories. but since theres nothing set in stone, its not out of the realm we could get a late feb/early march release (speculation on my part.)

so again spring hmmm march-may the wait continues

From what I know, I haven't met a VZW employee that knows what they are doing. I suggest that we just wait and see. By the middle of Feb is my cutoff for a new smartphone; don't let it be Neuxs, let is be Bravo!

solid info? you have had no solid info to date. the things you have said have not happened and the others have no proof to back up. when you have some "solid" info next week take a picture of it scan a copy of the documents something. when you made some of your first post on here you where talking about documents no pictures no physical phone then switched to it will look like the touch hd not the bravo (in my opinion they look pretty similar minus the hard buttons add a front camera) sorry if i offend anyone hear i just had to put out my .02 cents on "solid info"

The Bravo will be the Touch HD? See? That's so freakin' vague. Now you'll say "well, it won't be exactly like the Touch HD" and you'll type really Asian sounding and say something like "it have optic mouse and inner cirlce,,, I love this phone! you all see and feel stupid soon." IT NEVER MAKES SENSE! It's like me saying "I just got evidence that the tooth fairy is real." Then everyone says "really? show us some proof." Well, I don't have any proof. Just take my word for it. You'll all see soon and you'll all feel silly for not believing me." Then after I make all of my claims, I'll say "oh, and if I'm completely wrong on all of the claims I'm making, I will leave this forum and never come back." Well...duh... Cause if you're completely wrong and nothing you say is correct, we're going to run you outta here if you don't leave of your own free will! Not to mention how ridiculous you're going to look at that time. Plus, we'll all probably come to your house with torches and pitch forks like they did to Frankenstein. haha Oh woops...I almost forgot...
