Still Confident Bravo is coming to Verizon

Which rumor sites? this one?

No, I don't consider this thread part of the rumor mill, (so to speak). The fun of this thread is talking about the "possibilities" of a release, but sites like engadget, and others jusut pick up links from postings around the web and then restate the already stated, over and over and over again.

No offense meant, but someone grabs one of those links and posts it here to spice up out conversation, that is the fun part. All I ask is if you're going to post something (you think is new), read the thread first. Don't post a link that has been posted several times before...

It just makes us wade through more messages with no new revelations :)

any chance this is coming to t-mo in the U.S.???

T-mo us and uk tend to carry different phones so I doubt this particular model would go on Tmo us. That would not discount a similar spec'd phone from HTC going on the network later on.
But does this mean you're not super stoked about the MyTouch 1.2 release? :D

Alright I hate to say it, but lets put two and two together here. All signs lead to this phone NOT coming to verizon.

-Its a GSM phone. It would be easier to make for T-mo or AT&T...
-ATT has already announced that some HTC phones will be on their shelves shortly (Bravo?) While verizon....... well.......
-Verizon is getting the palm pre/palm pixi next week. Not sure if this means anything at all... but how many new phones does verizon EVER get?
-The nexus one is confirmed for verizon... Are they going to have 2 phones nearly identical????
-Motorola and HTC has just made verizon a SH*T ton of money..... I cant see verizon stabbing then in the back so soon by releasing a phone that makes the Droid and Eris outdated. Yes nexus one is coming in spring but thats 3 months away. (2 months if it really does come out march 23rd.)
-The bravo is confirmed sorta in sweeden. If they do announce that it is coming to verizon it will most likely be like the nexus one.... "get it on t-mo now or get it on verizon in the summer"

Dont get me wrong i really really really hope it comes to verizon soon but all signs point to no.

id get a N1 before a mytouch....but dam i really want that bravo lol

Im starting to thing that too. It looks to me like a rebranded N1 for sale directly at the carriers - ATT & T-MO. Probably 3 month delay after N1 release to give google a head start.

My speculation would be a CDMA Verizon N1 released by google in the Spring (march) followed by a 3 month delay till directly sold by Verizon as Incredible.

Gives Droid and Eris 6 months or so of sales before new releases.

CDMA chipset will take awhile to design, test, and release in a N1. Hate to say it but im starting to think it wont be on VZW till June.

Why would Verizon wait to release the Incredible 3 months after the N1? I get the feeling that Verizon doesn't care about the N1 because they won't be carrying it, supporting it, or have anything to do with it. How can it hurt Verizon to release a new phone? I don't see why they would care about hurting the sales of the N1, because they aren't the ones selling it.

I think I remember hearing that the CDMA version is ready to go, but they're just waiting to get the Verizon system integrated into Google's online shop. I very well could be wrong though...

And thats why developers are already seeing the Incredible? Nor would a CDMA radio take awhile to test. Its not going to be HTC's first CDMA phone. Also Verizon wont care about N1 sales as they get hardly any of that money if some at all.

So much wrong, so little space to type. Ok people. Everyone knows the Bravo is for Europe. Thats why its GSM. No one is really talking about the Bravo proper coming to Verizon. We're talking about a CDMA version, most likely the incredible, coming to Verizon.
Verizon has always been tight lipped about phones. Hell they announced the Droid Eris a day before it went on sale and the Droid maybe a week (or 2 at most) before it launched. They have more customers then any other national carrier. They feel they dont need to pimp out their phones.
Verizon is not selling the N1. You will be able to get the N1 on Verizon when you buy it from Google. Why will they care about having a N1 like phone? Also it wont be identical as it will be a Sense device. Also there should be some hardware differences.
HTC makes the Eris, Nexus One, the Bravo and the Incredible. How will Verizon selling the Incredible be a stab in the back of HTC? Wouldn't allowing Verizon customers to buy the N1 also be a stab in the back as well? Most likely it will mean that the Eris will drop to $50 or so while the Incredible will be at $199 after mail in rebate.

+1 Verizon will not make any money off the phone sales of the N1. Just the plans.

Does Verizon make allot money on there phones? Not much just when they sell them un-subsidized. They make there money off the contracts. Google wanted there N1 to go on as many networks as possible. They probably asked all carriers if they want it and Verizon probably said sure why not we can make some money on there contracts. Now Verizon can sell the Incredible and make some money off of that phone by selling it to all the people who bought a Droid but doesn

+1 my thoughts exactly. Is Apple stabbing there 8gig Itouch in the back for selling a 16 or 32gig Itouch? No they sell them all because people want and can afford different things.

If i was a betting man i would have to put my money on there not being a Bravo/Incredible/Passion for verizon before the N1 comes....A bet i would like to lose :)

If I had to bet, I would say it may not be out right at the N1 release, but within a month at the most.

From what I have read about the N1, I think it will be worth waiting for a phone sold by Verizon and if it looks like what we have seen, I can wait a month or two and hold off on the N1.

Its just there is no good reason for it unless Verizon just wants to kiss Google's ass. Outside of customers I dont think Verizon gets any money (or anything else) off of N1 sales. The Incredible is being shown around to developers so the hardware is done and I'm willing to bet the software is done or near complete. Also Verizon has stopped their "Buy a droid get a eris for free" promotion. If that promotion was to clear out stock it would seem like they've cleared it out (remember Verizon will not be stocking the N1). The price of the Eris has already dropped by $20. Maybe that last part is because of the Calgary/Devour. But there isn't a good reason for the Incredible to wait till June.

Where did you hear of this mysterious Incredible and how do you know it is cdma? I must have missed that update because from what i have heard there is no proof of a cdma incredible... I could be wrong. Hope so.

+1 Sure am glad you and Shawn are here to actually make some sense. haha

Yes, you missed that article. It's posted in this thread a few pages back. A tech guy got to actually SEE and hold the Incredible in a poorly lit room somewhere in a Verizon test facility or something. That's where we've gotten a lot of our latest specs on this phone. Here...I found the link. Enjoy!
