Still Confident Bravo is coming to Verizon

I have seen these before also but I also had a hard time making anything out. One thing I did notice. When I clicked a link today to look at the just announced HTC Smart, it took me to HTC's international site. Stangely, none of Verizon's phones were on the products page, except the Nexus One. No Eris, Imagio, etc.. You have to go to the US site to see those. So, you may be right, these may be for the international market. Maybe it's the difference of GSM vs. CDMA phone. We all know GSM is much more common internationally. But there very well could be a similar site for CDMA phones. Who knows?:confused:

Edit: Actually I do see the Touch Pro 2 and the Touch Diamond, but not the others. Still confused.
 
Your take on it certainly makes sense to me. We know they will have a CDMA N1, since it is coming to VZW, yet the N1 file on that site includes GPRS. Would also explain why there is a 404 error when looking for the PassionC (presumably CDMA N1) and the Incredible (if rumors are true).

I just hope that VZW gets something based on the Bravo; the N1 certainly looks like it's more than capable, but I like the form factor and additional features that appear in the Bravo file. I wonder if any of those specs will change for the US version if there indeed is one...
 
When I started this post I was confident that Bravo would be coming to Verizon....IN JANUARY!!! Now it looks like we will not get a SUPERBAD phone until "spring" with the Nexus One. What in the world is Verizon thinking. They could dominate the market if they woudl simply get the best phones. If they had the IPhone At&T would NOT EXIST! Now T-Mobile who offers plans at HALF the COST of verizon is getting the SUPERBAD Nexus One months before Verizon. The best thing about the Moto droid is the marketing campaign. The IPHONE Kills the droid. Damn Verizon...give me my HTC Passion. I guess we will see what comes out in February....more waiting and guessing. :mad::mad::mad::mad:
 
My plan is to turn over my Droid to my girlfriend then upgrade her line in Spring to get myself the Nexus One :) Her contract expires in May...Perfect.

Exactly what I'm planning. She likes the Droid better than the N1. We're on a family share with 3 lines for the 2 of us. The extra one has an upgrade but I'm hoping that Jan 9, my 1 year mark, they'll let me upgrade my storm1 to the Droid and I'll play with that and save the credit till the Nexus comes, use the credit for that, give her the Droid and everyone's happy. Her credit will be ready a couple of months after that and I'll be able to swap again if a better phone by HTC comes out this year on Verizon. I'm really hoping they let me upgrade on my 1 year. The rep said that some times its possible. I don't understand what would be the big deal...they had fliers a couple weeks ago with the option. I hope waiting for the Passion didn't make miss the Droid opportunity.

are you sure this will work? Remember Verizon will sell the phone indirectly, and Google will be actually selling the phone. The phone will be supported by Verizon's network, meaning that you will have to abide by Google's selling. At this point, if you have heard from T-Mobile customers, you know that you will not be able to upgrade from a family plan, since google requires the device to be on a single line plan. Existing customers at this point will not get the full discount for the phone, and if you are a family plan, your upgrade and any Verizon credits, are non-existent in the eyes of Google.

That's how it stands now.

Good point, but I sort of misspoke. My girlfriend and the remains of my family plan are actually on AT&T, I already ported over to Verizon. When the time comes I'll switch her over too!

I checked out the xml files but one thing that I see as confusing is that
the files list both phones as having arm11 cpu, which I know is not correct for Nexus One for sure.

All their profiles are listed as arm11. Obviously they are not all that processor (Nexus One is cortex A8) but maybe it's done for backwards compatibility or as just a place holder if the field is not relevant.

I did notice something else interesting, in this file for the 'Sapphire', a phone mentioned in the leaked ROM, it lists Android Browser version 1.5, whereas Nexus One has browser version 1.0.

Verizon will release the Passion late February after the "Big" meeting that Microsoft is having.
At this Conference I believe that WM 7 will be released...Is it possible the Passion/Bravo will be a WM 7 phone ???:eek::eek:

or they announce it around that time to try to take some of the attention away from WM7.

this dude on twitter still says he has a buddy who is a VZW manager, and swears that an "HTC Passion" is getting released in 2 wks, and its NOT the N1. god that would be amazing.

The Passion has been pretty well established to be the Nexus One so I got to believe this buddy of a VZW manager has the name or whole story wrong. What's the twitter account?
 
After reading on some of the N1's shortcomings, I think my desire for the Bravo has increased many fold. Bah... back to step 1ish
 
Found out the other day that I can't do an early upgrade because of my phone plan, I have the Geezer Plan.
I guess I'll have to keep my i910 parked in the stall until the non
RUMORED PASSION2 comes to VZW.

So, the folks over on the Nexus One forum are complaining profusely about the N1's poor speaker phone performance, including the ringer volume being too quiet to hear when in your pocket and that the speakers are very 'tiny' sounding.

Now, this is of course just speculation, but I am hopeful that the Bravo's speaker performance will be superior to the N1 given that the Bravo features Dolby Mobile enhanced sound. IMO this represents a commitment to sound quality on the part of HTC.

Yeah, we HAVE to wait for this phone! I don't even care how long it takes anymore. This Nexus One is looking more and more like it's not even close to being what the Bravo will be when it finally hits in the U.S. as whatever name it drops as. Great find wonderbread! Can you imagine how amazing or rather, incredible, this phone is going to be? I'm so excited I can barely stand it! And so excited that I will wait as long as I have to in order to get it. I don't care if it drops in May, I'm waiting.
 
Man i want to wait, but i cant deal with this Omnia for much longer. It gets on my nerves!!!I've had about 3 ui's and it still is annoying. I need a big capacitive sceen!!!
Im hoping they release something by the 13th so that i can get this phone by my birthday! (please! please! please! please!)

P.S. My roomate has the iPhone and I really want to shut him up! As many times as he drops calls or misses them because his phone goes straight to voicemail because of no coverage, he still thinks att is GOD.-->his dad even told me he wanted Verizon but it was too much money.

Newsradio....Good to see a post from you again. I hope you are right. I like the Nexus but the Bravo is what I want. My Verizon NE2 is up in March so I have a couple of months and my Dare is not all that bad.
 
I'm returning my ERIS today and going to wait for the Bravo. I'm going back to my first phone from Verizon: the Alias
