Root Still no word on an OC kernel for 2.2.2. ?

Ive got mine rooted and removed most of the bloat. I see it sped up a bit. Orientation switching is just as quick as and iphone 3gs i believe.(ive owned one) But i think its about time to OVERCLOCK a bit just so i can run most of my emulators at FULL 100% SPEED NO LAG. All i need is like 100mhz to be honest :/

alot of people i see asking about emulators. i have absolutely no problems untill i use n64 or psx emulators. the n64 emulator i use is the free one on the market and it plays choppy. fpse plays flawless but in slowmotion. has anyone gotten good performance from either? i would prefer n64 because the games are decent size not taking up 90 percent of the sdcard like psx games. i think for all the progress on the optimus when it comes to 3d gaming its hit a dead end

I thought you could flash the 2.2.1 stock oc kernel if you had recovery n stuff. I have flashed both my optimus' to a lot of roms and used the 2.2.1 OC kernel for the "stockish" kelso mods. Both seem to work fine and one is stable at 768ish and the mine currently is 806ish. Forgive me if I'm wrong, dont know much but it does work with the roms I used that supported flashable zips.

Almost any kernel built for our phone could be used on any ROM made for our phone EXCEPT ICS. ICS is special :p

Me, Sammy and Primed are pushing out a ROM similar with some cool features. Should be out within the next 72 hours. Tweak and learn :)

Im still hoping for a overclocking 2.2 rom as well, may get higher clocks and it may likely fix some phone glitches.....

If nobody is even trying can someone send me a copy of the 2.2 kernel and i'll start looking into with my free time. Doesnt seem to take much time for these guys to come up with the overclock kernels. I think an overclocked 2.2 would be more effecient.

Me and tripdoc made an OC 2.2.2 kernel way back in the day. It had no significant change in phone operation. It still reboots randomly and offered no benefit over the 2.2.1 kernel.

Also, the 2.2.1 OC kernel will flash over the 2.2.2 update just fine. They are identical, other than revision number.

No, it was the exact same, if my memory serves me right.

I'm not sure what causes the reboots, but the ZV7 update fixed all my reboot problems, only to return when I install any other ROM.

My phone doesn't reboot anywhere near as bad as it used to after doing this:
Update to 2.2.2
Reroot
Add CWM on my phone
Add Custom ROM

I get less reboots now. Barely ever. I used to get it twice a day before the update and running a custom ROM.

Wish it worked that way on mine. Luckily, the rebooting phones got broke and this new one I have doesn't reboot ever.
