Help Still not happy

So going back and forth with verizon about dropped data the lady tells me wait it will be better with the update........gues what it is NOT any better. I am so mad. Is anybody else still having problems???:mad::mad::mad::mad::mad:
 
what do we do as consumers??? It makes me mad because I am paying VERY good money for a service that I am not getting all the time. It seems like we should have a class action law suit
 
My launch-day phone sucked at connectivity. swapped it out last friday. Night and day. I hardly EVER lose 4G, even in places that are problematic, like inside my home. download speeds are in incredible 22-24Mbs. I was lucky to ever get 7Mbs on my first phone.

My wife's bionic has always been great at holding a signal, also.

ask for a replacement! seriously
 
At least before the update I got 4g. Now I get neither 3g or 4g, I just get signal bars most of the time. It is a full signal, but only the bars.:mad::confused::eek:

and u have done the SIM-card pull, etc?

If that doesn't do it all that is left is:

1. replacement SIM card
2. RESET
3. replacement phone

A replacement phone solved my issue, after having trouble for about 90 days with the launch day phone. I should have gotten it swapped sooner...
 
Should have at least replaced the SIM card sooner ... like ... the third time it happened.

Some of this was also confused bu the problems on the non-Bionic end of the connection as they were working on the network. There was also the day+ outage.

I called Tech support, and they said the update must have done something to my sim card. A new one will be here tomorrow.
 
Update did not solve my black screen problem. Half hour after update it went black. I have to pull the battery to get it to turn on. Also lost data today in Sacramento and had to reboot to get data back. What's the deal with this phone anyway?

I was excited when the update rolled out and it seemed to hold 4G a little stronger, but a week in and I'm going to have to agree with you that it's definitely worse now.

I replaced my SIM card on .886 and that solved a lot of the dropped connections, everything was going well. After The .893 uodate, I'm now back to getting a completely dead connection during 4G-3G transitions about 50% of the time. 4G holds slightly stonger, but once it goes out, no data / reset connections app time.

Also my 3G seems to have got significantly worse. Before, when I'd put the phone in CDMA only, I'd get a consistent 3G signal throughout the house. Now, in places where I had consistent 3G, I'm getting 1x or no data at all. It really sucks.

The camera is quicker, and no more high pitched whine when using headphones so at least 2 things improved. It's a shame the data issue got worse for me.
 
I find that after the OTA my Bionic doesn't get data when set to CDMA/LTE but does get data when set to CDMA only.
 
Mine also seemed to get worse after the update. I don't really understand why a new phone or sim card would help. With this many people having issues I doubt it is caused by "defective" phones, their QC would have to be terrible. I wonder how many people who say a new phone fixed it, still were good after a couple of weeks?
 
I still have issues as i received my replacement today in the mail. I have already had 2 random power downs in 3 hours and have had no data for about 10 min already at this point, airplane cycle and reboot didnt solve it.
 
Did you just run with it the way it was delivered or did you immediately start tweaking it?

Did it come with a new SIM card?

(I got my Bionic minutes after it was released and used it un-tweaked for seven days. I then started tweaking.)

I got my replacement bionic 2 days ago and it fixed my data loss problems completely. I used the sim from the previous device.
 
ill just chime in. the update helped alot but its hard to tell when their network keeps going down. ya it went down again and i even lost cdma aka voice and 3g for a period of time. ok who is hacking v?
 
I've been having problems still. At work, I'm fine 3g or 4g. At home, I'm fine with 3g and 4g. When I drive, it's hit or miss. Sometimes I make the whole 30 minute drive without losing signal, sometimes I go the whole trip without data signal. What the heck should I do? I got the phone 1 week ago and I have one more week to decide whether or not I want to return it. As it is right now, the data reliability is unacceptable.
 
I spend an awful lot of time on a WiFi connection.

If I was in a situation where I absolutely had to have a reliable wireless data connection other than WiFi ... I would not have a 4G phone. I would hold off another 3-4 months until all the problems got taken care of and the reliability reappeared.

If it was the case where I could be without a wireless data connection at random times I would stay with the Bionic. Fast, great display, voice call quality is the best, on the upgrade path to ICS.

The Verizon network seems to be going downa lot in Boston lately, and it seems like when it does, i get no signal at all, not even 3g. Anyone else experiencing this? Not complaining, it just seems odd that i can't get 3g even.
 
The update completely broke my phone. Before I had no problems at all, switching back and forth 4 g to 3g was not a problem. Now I cannot get 3 g coverage anywhere at all. The only time I have data is when I have 4 g coverage. If this is what an update does I m afraid of ICS...

"the update" currently has about seven different meanings.

-- What was the version you were coming from?
-- What is the version you went to?

As an example ... the only update I did was from 5.5.886 to 5.5.893.
