Root Stock apps/voicemail

Hey LeslieAnn,

Do you have an easier way of getting the MSL for this phone than the other thread posted here which is fragmented or by calling, which I got shot down three times by asking for it.

I got real spoiled by our "one click" root on the OV way back in the day and I'm having Harmonica withdrawals. ;p

There is a way...

Don't ask for the msl... Backup, then using a tethering app, create an error 67 (or lie about it) using a tethering app. People have gotten them at random so you don't have to tell them how. Call VM and go through their BS, and get to a tech, they will walk you through fixing it.

Like I said, don't say you want the MSL, tell them you are getting an error 67 and that the techs know how to fix it using ##rtn# and "some special code". That code, is the msl. It's either tell you the msl or send you a new phone, push for the code.

WELL!! whataya know.. I just had an error 67. Horrible. Its horrible. I MUST call about this now. This shouldnt be happening. ;) lol
 
well got the msl from virgin mobile. that error 67 is a winner...erm i mean such a big issue!! lol thanks for the info on that to all who either experienced the issue and got the code or just figured it was a good way to get it.
 
Oh my poor Elite, this error 67 was terrible until the nice tech gave me that special code to help reset this bad boy!
 
does anybody have the activate.apk i lost signal on my phone and i need to install it to return it to get a new phone
 
If you want to remove things like that,a smart move would be to make a backup of these files BEFORE you take them out, but even more... You might want to consider the consequences a bit more, considering you don't have the option of re-flashing a fresh rom if you mess something up bad.

Doing things like this is exactly the kind of thing that leads to bricked phones.

We desperately need a more simple root process/more complete how to guide on the rooting. It is causing more problems for what it's worth so far. I got stuck on LGNPST and couldnt figure that stuff out, so I decided to just take my phone as it is for the moment until something more robust or easier comes along.
