Stock Browser Folders

Is it possible to create folders in the bookmarks tab for the stock browser on the GNex? I know you can create folders on the homepage but that doesn't help me sort in the browser the bookmarks that will not have a folder. If this isn't possible an app recommendation would me great too. Thanks!

Yes, but its not straightforward at all.
I think you get two types of bookmarks... your xxxxxx@gmail.com bookmarks which are tied into chrome if you use that on a PC, and your 'local' which are just on your phone.

The gmail account bookmarks are easy to work with b/c you can go into your computer and open chrome and manage the bookmarks and create folders and then let your phone sync to your browser bookmarks. That's option 1.

To get folders in your 'local bookmarks' is a little wackier.
Go to the browser and open the bookmarks. Choose a local bookmark you want to put in a folder and long press. Choose "edit bookmark". Go down to 'add to' and click the arrow to open the selections. Choose "other folder". Click 'New folder' in the upper right and create a new folder and name it. Now, you can see you have a folder in your local bookmarks. You can now long press any other bookmarks and choose edit bookmark and 'add to' that new folder. When you create new bookmarks you will now have the option to save them to that folder as well.

(I think you can edit your @gmail.com bookmarks the same way as the local bookmarks if you don't want to do it through chrome)

Wow thanks! I think I am going to give your second option a shot. It looks like an old Nintendo code to get that to work! Up down down left right...!

To expand on Tim K's excellent tip (which I just found, sorry to necro the thread).

If you wish to create several book mark folders in one quick session, when you get to the step in Tim's tip above where you 'name the new folder' you click "OK" to accept the folder name, you now have two directions to take, tapping "Ok" then "Ok" again, moves your bookmark to the new folder. If you choose "Cancel" and "Cancel" you'll leave your bookmark where it was and return to the bookmarks view you were initially... tapping "Cancel*2" only cancelled moving the bookmark, the new folder was created and done with the first tap of "Ok" earlier.

Thanks again Tim!
