Hey guys! I'm a Developer for the LG Connect 4G on MetroPCS.

Can anyone here who gets this phone hook me up with a Flashable Zip File so I can dissect it and possible port ICS over to our phones since we've really had no luck.

We have a Kernel I just need the Flashable Zip to see if its possible.

I THINK (keyword: Think) the LG Spirit and the LG Connect may have the same Hardware specs which may prove this porting a little bit easier.

Let me know what you can come up with.

First we got to find root ;)

What's the worst that could happen if I tried to use the root method for the motion? I don't have this phone, but considering getting it early next week.

Do you have this phone, and if you do, can you try the root method that we have for the connect?

No I don't and won't any time soon.
I say try the root for the Motion. The Spirit and Motion both run ICS and I'm sure whatever root methods worked on the connect was patched when ICS came to LG.

LG has been patching root exploits pretty well recently, although they missed it with the latest update for the motion, they patched up the L9 pretty damn good, none of the current ICS root methods work with the newest update for the L9 unfortunately.

Well the MS870 phone was originally made in August 2012 by LG (thanks FCC for that sticker). The firmware available is the same firmware since before the MS77010e firmware (thanks LG for screenshots of the MS870 firmware name), so hopefully it wasn't patched.

I just bought this phone today. Anyone try the motion root method? Or must i be the first... This phone blows the Attain away. Thought i would share that.

Try the one for the Motion, I'm sure it will work, and if it doesn't there's no way it will hurt the phone.

same chipset, but no idea on the rest of the hardware, could have a diffrent screen which would change a lot.
I can confirm the different touch screen. Same display driver, but renders as garbage on the motion...probably because the spirit is HDPI and the motion is MDPI

It's more similar to the motion, correct shabby?
Edit: quick question, is the LG Mach (LS860) also similar to the motion/spirit?
LG Motion was supposed to be the same as the LG Mach from the leak from "@evleaks" think they changed it for the cost- took away qwerty, qHD & bigger screen might of had an LED notification light
