Root Stock Ruu

ok went through htcdev and unlocked again.....it says it completed successfully and i selected unlock bootloader on phone and pressed power but when it reboots it still says relocked?

You have to unlock it and flash it and then relock it when your done.

You need to unlock token to unlock it, I hope you saved it cause if not you gotta do the whole process again

ummmm trying get my phone to work?
Obviously i am having issues with it booting up.
It reboots and reboots and reboots.
If i reboot it without it plugged into the pc it just sits on the white htc screen

actually thats not at all obvious to me from the limited info youve given the last couple posts. if youve posted somewhere else where this condition is "obvious" i havent seen that.

how did you phone come to be in the state that it is in?

prolly the best thing for you to do is run an ruu, wich should restore all partitions to stock, and the phone back to working order if you dont have some sort of hardware failure.

do the following, and paste the output here(backspace out,or change to x's,your meid and esn):
first download and install these drivers: revolutionary drivers (mirror)

then,download this small file:
mini-adb.zip

-unzip it,and place the unzipped folder onto the root of your C drive(not inside a folder)

-open a cmd window(with win 7,click start bubble, type "command" or "cmd" in hte search box)

-now change to your mini-adb directory(assuming you didnt chagne the name). type in the black cmd window that opened on your PC:
cd c:\mini-adb

-pull the battery in your phone for a few seconds. hold volume down, then power. hold them both until you see the white/colored writing hboot screen

-select "fastboot" from the hboot menu with the vol rocker/power button

-in your cmd window type:
fastboot devices

it should output your phones serial number. if so youre good to go. if not, youre apparently having a driver issue. i usually recomend these drivers from Revolutionary: modified htc drivers download and install the drivers(you should just have to run that file). afterwards, unplug your phone, plug it back in. make sure its in fastboot. as soon as you get a result from "fastboot devices" your ready to procede to the next step.

-in your cmd window, type(or copy/paste,is much easier):
fastboot getvar all

-copy the info that outputs here. right click in your cmd window, click mark, highlight it all in white. hit enter. paste the info here. it will help us know which ruu for you to run. :)

if you allready have working fastboot, you dont need the download, the important thing is the output from fastboot getvar all

C:\android>fastboot getvar all

basically it had CWM recovery on it....htc pushed an update then i couldnt even see recovery and stuck in this loop ever since

so selecting recovery from hboot does not take you to CWM recovery, correct?

you prolly need to just run the ruu. from your CID(SPCS__003) looks like youre on boost mobile? the only sprint/boost download at the link above is an OTA wich will not do you any good. we will need to do some more searching and try and find a correct, full, signed ruu.

what happens when you select recovery in the hboot menu? if you are taken to a pic of a red triangle and ! then you have a stock recovery in place. try chosing the "factory reset" option from hboot and let us know what happens.

when it comes up....if it is plugged into the pc....it goes directly to "fastboot usb". I can select bootloader and it cycles through a bunch of zip files it cant find and then it says its in hboot. When i select recovery it just goes right back to fastboot usb. I dont ever see the red triangle. The only time it does not do anything different is if i unplug it from the pc and then it just sits on the white htc screen. From what i understand the RUU is supposed to be a GUI but i have never seen it. You said that there is not a correct one for my situation so that would make sense. Also tried to unlock bootloader thru htcdev and it says its unlocked but when it reboots it just says ***tampered***
***relocked***
from what i can tell it did not unlock it. it lies!!!!

also what does the error from my getvar all post when it says error too many links? is that something i need to correct?

thanks for your help/time

also factory reset doesnt do dick either. just back to fastboot usb. and EVERYTHING is remote signature verify fail.

The things it says it can't find when booting into hboot is normal. It is searching for files on your sdcard. So that is not an issue. Let me do some research and see what I can come up with. I just need to review all Ur posts to see if we are missing something. Im not sure how to get the ruu for boost, but the guys on other carriers have got them so I'm sure it will be possible for us.

It looks like i am not the only one with this problem, not specifically, but with 1067 views it looks like alot of people may have the similar situation.

also factory reset doesnt do dick either. just back to fastboot usb.
thanks... this was my next question.

and EVERYTHING is remote signature verify fail.
since youre s on,you wont be able to flash any unsigned files. anything that you attempt to flash that didnt come from htc will fail the signiture variation.

unfortunately, your phone is doing all sorts of security checks, not the least of wich are main version, signiture, cid, mid, and hboot version

basically you are jammed up becasue your custom recovery attempted to install an official file from htc,and is not able to install firmware, leaving you with a mismatch of software and incompatible firmware. this is exactly the reason that once youve committed to being rotoed, you never want to install OTAs.

at this point we need to either get your phone unlocked,or get an ruu to run.

your phone is prolly not unlocking becasue of the state its in. ive had phones not unlock when certain partitions have been modified, and seems the firmware mismatch can muck things up as well. folks that ive helped in this situation are sometimes only able to unlock after running an ruu  it could have left you in a pretty bad spot.

you can try the following things and see if any of them let your unlock be successful:
troubleshooting connectivity issues:
*make sure you have changed to your adb/fastboot directory!
-try a reboot of the PC
-try different usb cables and ports
-dont use a usb hub
-dont use usb 3.0
-make sure nothing capable of comunicating with the phone is enabled and running. htc sync, pdanet, easy tether, and even itunes have all been known to cause issues.
-windows 8 has been known to have issues. try a windows 7 or older machine

failing the above,
-i use these drivers for fastboot and adb(donwload and run as admin): http://downloads.unrevoked.com/HTCDriver3.0.0.007.exe (mirror)

failing that, try manually updating the drivers in the following manner:
-put the phone in fastboot mode(select fastboot from the hboot menu)
-open device manager on the PC
-plug in phone, watch for it to pop up in device manager.
-update drivers with device manager, pointing the wizard to the extracted
driver download folder from above

note that you can check the connectivity of the phone, and make sure drivers are working by in the following manner:
-open cmd window. change to directory containing adb/fastboot utilities

-adb with the phone in the booted OS,usb debug enabled, enter:
adb devices in a cmd window

-fastboot with phone in fastboot,enter:
fastboot devices in cmd window

in either case,a properly connected phone with working drivers installed should report back the phones serial number.

i know youre not having a connectivity issue, but check/try those things and see if it makes a difference.

you can also try getting a new token.

in the mean time we will serch for official ruu for you to run :)

As far as the officially signed files they dont make a difference. I have not tried a different token from HTC. that will be next.

OK wow i dont know how i did it but i can boot into cwm recovery????? So before i jack it up what do i need to do now?

in other words i can get to where i can install zip from SD card, do a factory reset, backup restore etc..

You have to unlock the bootloader or you wont be able to flash anything in cwm. if you can't get the hang of the instructions then maybe rooting phones isn't your thing.

There's very detailed step by step instructions in multiple guides.

you can try restoring a backup,or flashing a stock rom. however,if the bootloader is still locked, then you may not be able to actually do anything,as mikessv said.

you can try the basic steps in this guide to install a rom:
http://androidforums.com/rezound-all-things-root/499172-how-manually-flash-roms.html#post3933400

that is for the rezound, but the basic principles apply, just make sure you use a one sv specific recovery.

failing everything else, try and wipe of cache, dalvik, and factory reset/wipe data and see if the phone boots.

im still trying to find an ruu or firmware package that coule help you,but so far no luck :(
