Root Stock Updated Roms?

Hello,

I have a HTC EVO 4G LTE that is still on 1.13.651.1, I am rooted and have S-OFF. I am getting the update to go to 1.22.651.3, I'd like to remain stock everything, especially with regards to the stock Swype. Is there anyway I can update, keeping the ability to root and S-OFF without taking this OTA?

THanks!

Welcome to the forums!! :D

Yes, you can flash the stock rooted ROM to keep your S-OFF status and keep everything else mostly stock.

Let me see if I can find the link here....

Download the stock rooted 2.13 ROM. Its suggested that you reboot into recovery and make a nandroid backup before flashing anything.

Stock Rooted DeOdexed 2.13.651.1 - xda-developers

Since you're going from stock rom to stock ROM, you can probably get away with a "dirty flash". This means only wiping dalvik cache and cache and then flashing the ROM. The advantage of this is that you do not lose your settings, apps or data. The disadvantage is that since its not a clean install you can have some minor hiccups. However, the nandroid backup you made is your insurance in case that happens

You can also update your radios and other firmware that was included in the OTA. Radios get updated through your H-boot and not the recovery.

The one you'll need:

Rename the file to "PJ75IMG.zip", place on root of SD card, and boot into HBOOT to flash.
