Strange - Icon change

Still liking my Volt! I don't have too many apps and am just running stock Kit Kat. In fact the only game I have is Candy Crush but a strange thing happened to its icon. Soon after I got the Volt I went into the App settings and for most of the apps that allowed it I moved the app to the 16GByte SD card I have installed. Now this is the move to SD function that is native to KK and I know it does not move the entire app to SD but whatever it does move I figure is a savings. And one of the apps that was moved to the SD was Candy Crush.

This was several weeks ago and everything has been fine, and the icon for CC was its own icon. Well, today I went to play it and didn't see it. Long story short, its still there but the icon is now a generic icon showing a little Android guy and an image of an SD card. The game still loads and plays just fine but its not using its own icon. If I long press the icon I can edit it but I can only change it to some other generic icons.

Has anyone seen anything like this before? Again, the game is totally usable and runs fine but just does not have its own icon. STRANGE!!

I have noticed that before, I think it is normal. The only fix I have found is to get a custom launcher, get a duplicate of the icon, and use the custom launchers built in icon changer tochange the icon. If you are a rooted user, the Xposed module "xstana" will change the icon, but may cause issues, however it is unlikely.

***EDIT: It is called "xsuite" not "xstana" my apologies***

You might try moving it back to internal memory and then moving it back to the memory card. I had that a couple years ago happen on my Optimus V which was a precursor to the card going bad so be careful, in others words back up the card frequently.

Hi Everyone,

Thanks for your suggestions but this morning the real icon is back!! Now I did absolutely nothing as I discovered the icon change late in the day and I was not in the mood for any troubleshooting. This morning I was going to move the app back to internal memory and then back to SD to see what happened. But before I went to do that I checked the icon and as I said its back to normal. Go figure!!!
