Help Strange situation: Dinc 2

Hey guys. I need some advice. My stepfather bought a new Dinc 2 from wirefly. He just got it in the mail today. I'm away at school so I couldn't help him. I guess the phone activated fine but would only make calls and connect to wifi. So he's asking me why he can't get on verizons network. I told him to restart the phone, try this blah blah. Again I'm not there so I was a little in the dark.


So he went to a verizon store. I guess they did some trouble shooting and verified that the phone was "broken" and needed to be returned to wirefly for a new one. I'm not too familiar with how the networks work but It seems like the phone should connect to the internet if it's picking up both wifi and call service.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
 
Sorry, never heard of this issue. I would say if the Verizon techs looked at it and said that it is 'broken', his best option is to send it back to Wirefly for an exchange. I'm sure they verified that the 'Mobile Network' was 'ON' (Notification Menu --> Quick Settings).
 
The api (access point information) might not be correctly set up, this would cause you not to be able to connect to Verizon's 3g network even if mobile data is on.
Have the in store rep confirm that for you.
If that is correctly set up then yeah, it's time for another one.
