Root Stuck at LG Screen

When my phone boots it gets stuck on the LG screen. I'm not able to boot into recovery and the only thing I can do is remove the battery to turn the phone off.

Is it possible to recover my phone and get it back to rooted stock so I can install fastboot?

You're better off asking in the all things root category.

There is a thread about going back to stock unrooted. Find it and see if it helps.

What were you doing when this happened? Since i know you dont have fastboot id say your best bet is to get on a windows pc not vista and try LGNPST. But before that itd help to know what you were doing when this happened

I was following this thread:

attempting to go back to stock in order to get fastboot. I did the Nandroid restore of the "Stock V6.zip" file and upon restarting all I get is the LG screen.

Oh buddy, to downgrade you need to do a FULL flash with either LG Mobile updater or LGNPST you can try the 2.2 root guide for LGMU which doesnt always work and i dont know if it would in your situation or find the LGNPST guide and try that. That was just nandroids to revert to stock from custom ROMs but like ROMs you cant flash 2.1 over 2.2 and the other way around. And now you cant get into recovery?? I wouldnt thing flashing 2.1 over 2.2 would mess with that i know others have done it and only ended up in a bootloop but their recovery was still good.

Thank you for the clarification and hopefully I can salvage the phone.

What does LGNPST mean? I'm guessing that is an acronym for something important that I haven't come across yet.

LGNPST is LG New Product Support Tool, LG software for flashing the phone and such

The LGNPST guide

If youre on wondows xp or 7 it should be easy enough though i dont know how it will act in your phones current state but i believe itll work. READ the guide through a couple times and take it slow and you should be fine. Need anyhelp just post in the guides thread

Thanks for all of the information!

I will give that a try tonight.

Everything went well and as described in the document and I appear to be back to stock Ally.

How do I verify that I have fastboot and if I don't how do I get it? :D

in terminal enter reboot bootloader or from adb. if you downgraded to v6 then you have fastboot now.
