Help Stuck at Moto Symbol screen after 2.2

Bad buttons upon getting a refurb droid x ?

I updated this morning, but after the update it stuck at the 'Motorola' symbol after the reboot. I had to reboot the phone 5 times to get it work and it was fine; however, i just installed flash and have rebooted 5 times and the phone screen is still stuck at the Motorola symbol upon restart. I can hear emails coming in and i can turn the screen on and off but no go. Looks like I am going to Verizon.

Anyone else had the same issue?
 
Same here...

Mine is forever stuck at the Moto logo... hadn't done anything to my phone other than load apps... LPP, Widgetlocker, Bettercut, Astro, FolderOrganizer. And a couple other things from the market.

DL'd the update, clicked to install, it restarted, and has been at the logo for 30 mins. Pulled the battery, restarted, still nothing.

I am not a happy camper!!!
 
I never could get it & went to the store. Was able to get there in time for them to order me a new one that will be here by 10:30 tomorrow morning.

And I was the first customer to go to that store with this problem - all they had for a directive was to email someone higher up all kinds of info about the phone & wait for a response. And since they couldn't seem to revive it & didn't know how long a response would take they just ordered one for me.

This will be the 3rd DX for me....
 
Well i couldn't take it anymore w/ the stuck at moto symbol so I took the X into a verizon store today. They tried a factory reset/wipe but still the same thing hapenned so a warranty replacement will be in my hands in a couple days. I hope I have better luck with the new one. If a second one dies on me, i will probably switch to the incredible.....keeping my fingers crossed.
 
Mine has done this once. I pulled and it took it forever to come on. When it did I skipped the motto screen and went straight to the droid screen. Freaky.
 
Well, mine was worse......they even tried a factory reset and it didn't work....so that means something is somewhere where it shouldnt be and its causing a conflict on boot-up. I guess a factory wipe doesn't delete 'everything'. I'm patiently awaiting a shipment notice of my replacement, fedex 2 day shipping. They said tues or wed it would arrive.

I wonder why they wouldn't give me one in the store????
 
Motorola knows about this problem, and is planning to fix on a "future" update.

In the mean time, try removing the battery for 5 minutes and then starting. Works every time for me.
 
I know on laptops to fully discharge the capacitive memory of the chipset, you have to do a battery pull and hold the power button for like a minute or so. Wonder if something similar would work on these phones?
 
Yanking the battery didn't work 'every' time for me. Sometimes I had to wait overnight with the battery out of the phone. I go through 2 batteries a day so it was just not acceptable to put up with this until Verizon released a fix. My new X is coming tomorrow; hopefully, it doesn't have the same issue.
 
I'll pull the battery longer this time as pulling for a second or few miniutes doesn't work here.
 
This happened twice after going into recovery to make a nandroid backup. Pulling the battery for a few seconds didn't do anything, but keeping the battery out for a minute then allowed the phone to boot up nicely. Hopefully Motorola's fix that's coming soon does actually fix this issue.
 
My 'new' replacement phone was actually a refurb....it had a bad 'back'(really wobbily, and didn't push in correctly) button so i am returning it and making them send me another. Sending a refurb for a phone thats only 2 months old is kind of B.S. in my opinion......IF there is anything wrong with the second, i'm going to start getting irritated.
 
Damnit Verizon..you said you were going to ship it overnight to me, tracking says 2day....oh well, at least my current phone works.
 
Well, i am now at 2 bad 'certified like new refurbished' phones from Verizon........i'm waiting for the 3rd now for tomorrow. Both affected by bad buttons in that the buttons appear sunken in and they cannot be easily pushed.
 
Sorry to hear of the problems. I am on my 4th DX, but couldn't be happier with my phone now! I experienced the same logo freeze issue. It began immediately after 2.2 was installed. I had to pull the battery for 5 mins or longer, it seemed. I finally got a new replacement, but I had to scream and threaten and throw a fit (it was really ugly) but it worked! :) Anyway, I do hope your next phone does the trick for you. I'd suggest, if this 3rd USED phone isn't working properly that you ask them to send you a new phone to ease your frustrations. I do think new phones are flashed with 2.2, rather than having it updated, and I think that helps.
