Root Stuck in Boot Loop Please help

Newbie
My wifes younger brother rooted his DX and now was attempting to load another ROM. He is stuck in boot loop and I can not get his phone past the Moto logo. I have held down power and home, and attempted to wipe and do a factory reset. However I am getting a error like this:

E:Can't open /cache/recovery/command

Is there something I can try and do? My PC does not recognize the phone when I plug it in? Let me know if you have any info, thanks in advance.
 
Thank you, I will try this and let you know how it goes. Any good rooting software to use for the DX? I forgot which one I used for my DI, but it was easy and I have never had any issues.
 
To make it easy on yourself when rooting with z4Root do this:

1. Install z4Root
2. Immediately reboot the phone after z4Root installation
3. Run z4Root
4. Let z4Root reboot your phone for changes to take effect
5. Done, you are now rooted

yeah i havent really read sims thread but if it is about the same thing then he should be golden
 
yes very, and its a good thing too, we def need it, all guides should have links to what i have in their sigs, so its easier for noobs to get everything situated for them :)
 
yes phases told me thats how it does, one sig per page from one user.

but like you said sometimes it comes back up, its kinda nutty lol
 
not sure, but every time i post i see my sig, and then when i post somewhere else, my sig from the previous one is gone, and i see the sig on the new post, its just strange i tell ya
 
Yeah, I don't even see your sig at all.........actually I haven't seen it at all this past half hour or so.
