Root Stuck in Redux bootloop

phoen1x

Newbie
So my desire is stuck in a redux bootloop. Took battery out, replaced and tried again, same result. Took it out and booted phone into recovery, and tried to backup (or restore) and got the message:

E:Can't mount /dev/block/mmcblk0 (or /dev/block/mmcblk0p1)
(No such file or directory)
Can't mount /sdcard

Any way out of this please?

can you tell us what exactly you did before this happened. we need more information.

we also need the information of hboot (all)
recovery version
this could be a usb brick but i need to know exactly what you did
also have you tried a different sdcard?

Ok latest, I took a new sd card, and there were no error messages with it in recovery, so I took a clockworkmod backup and then reinstalled Redux fresh.

So there seem to have been two problems:

1. There is/was a bootloop problem with Redux - even with the new sd card it would not boot up

2. The sd card is corrupted as when I put it in with the new fresh Redux it is not recognised and I am prompted to format it.

I've got no idea how it happened - was using my phone during the day as normal, then I took it out to use and the screen would not wake up when I pressed the power button. Kept trying but no luck, so I pulled the battery and turned on the phone, at which point it was stuck in a bootloop, so pulled battery, tried again - same result. So I booted up into recovery at which point I was getting all the error messages above.

ok seems like sdcard just died
it would have caused the bootloop as if you have a2sd enabled and install redux a load of the user apps will be moved to the ext partition. if you flashed the patch to move dalvic too then if the card dies it will not boot.
when you changed card you will still have a bootloop as for 2 reasons
1. the new card is not likely to be partitioned for a2sd (if you were using it)
2. even if it was its not containing the dalvic and data that was stored on the previous cards etc partition.

Seems like you need to partition your new SD with GParted then try booting Redux again. Sounds just like it can't find a valid EXT partition on the card
