Stuck on Boot after Flash

Hi all,

Just got a Galaxy S2 today, installed Clockworkmod Recovery, then used that to install the zip of the latest version of Cyanogenmod 7 from here ( CyanogenMod Mirror Network - Powered by TDRevolution full-3 version)

Installed, then clicked to reboot, and it got stuck at the boot screen (the screen with the phone name and a big yellow triangle on it)

Tried pulling the battery and turning it on again, wont work. Can't wipe because I cant figure out how to boot into clockwork recovery.

Any advice?

Thanks!

Holding HOME+VOL_UP+POWER will get you into recovery. Once there flash the CM7 ROM again - same thing happened to me (stuck at boot animation) and this fixed it.

Okay I've got into recovery, done the wipe data/factory reset and wipe cache partition, but now when I go into apply update from sdcard it can't see anything on the card, gone through all the directories on the list but it cant find anything on there, checked that the sdcard hasnt been wiped and it hasn't, the zip folders etc are on there but the recovery cant see them, any ideas?

EDIT - Ignore the above I was being silly and for some reason changed the kernel back to a stock one, sorted now.

Right I'm in to Clockwork Recovery, choosing the update from SD, clicking on the update. It then loads it, says installation complete, but then when it reboots just sits on the home screen again. Gonna try wiping it and reinstalling again.

DON'T wipe data/factory reset the second time or you'll nuke the newly-installed kernel. Just use the "install zip from sdcard" option twice, one after the other - that should do it, I think.

CM7 wont install, come us with an error message when it tries to, so tried it with vanillarom instead, that installs, but when it reboots it just gets stuck on the home screen with the yellow triangle again. Tried re-flashing it like you said without wiping the data but still stuck on the home screen. Anything I can do to get my phone into a working order? Like putting it back to the factory stock version?

EDIT - Okay got it back to stock, will have to look into CFW another time, thanks for your help with this.

As that's a completely different handset to the Samsung Galaxy S2, you should ask over in the G2X section here. Something that works on our handset might not be good for yours.

edit: I see that you already have posted over there. Good luck with a solution.

I have the same problem but i tried to flash an older version and it apparently worked but my phone is stuck booting saying "Samsung Galaxy SII"
tried to reset but it failed
