Root Stuck on Clockworkmod Recovery!!

doing a factory reset wont wipe out system,or boot. just data and cache,so that shouldnt have hurt anything.

just to make sure were all on the same page, and have all the facts:
1)did you do any other mods or procedures prior to unlocking?
2)you did in this order:
-unlock bootloader(pohone rebooted)
-you went back to fastboot and fastboot flashed recovery
-did you reboot then? or immediately enter recovery from fastboot, then hboot?
3) you have not wiped system,or any other wipe options, correct?
4) did you do anything with rom manager inthe booted OS?

any other thing you can think of will be helpful as well.

at this point, there should be nothing wrong with the phone to casue it not to boot,i believe its just a clockwork error, unless you have other info for us from the above questions.

agentc13 prolly has the best advice... hold power and try and force a hard reboot.

failing that, you can plug the phone back in,and with the phone in recovery,in your cmd window enter:
adb devices
and,if you get your serial number back, then
adb reboot reboot

and let us know what happens :)

so i do not think i have root access any more nor the bootloader because the red words dont show up and when i get into the bootloader it doesnt say tampered anymore

if you have a good backup you can restore,do the following:
using the same process you used to flash your recovery, enter the following command instead of fastboot flash recovery recoveryname.image, use this command:

fastboot boot recoveryname.img

this will launch your recovery into phone memory, making it possible for recovery to write your boot image.

now:
-wipe data/factory reset
-wipe caceh
-wipe dalvik cache

restore your backup. if you do not have a backup to run,you prolly will need to flash a rom. sounds like you have somehow erased your boot/and or system partitions.

wait im confused now sorry. but hey scotty i am finally out of recovery and everything so now i am on h boot so what can i do so i can make the phone work?

so i do not think i have root access any more nor the bootloader because the red words dont show up and when i get into the bootloader it doesnt say tampered anymore

whaaaa

if you plug the phone in does it go to a black screen with silver letters?

if not,can you take a pic of this screen for us?

also it says tampered on my hboot.

ok,we need to slow things down a bit,as we cant keep up with the replies.

if you can get to hboot do this:
using the same process you used to flash your recovery, enter the following command instead of fastboot flash recovery recoveryname.image, use this command:

i need to go eat,but ill check back in a bit :)

oh and the thing that i couldnt remember that i did before unlocking the bootloader was superboot

this is a link that i did with my phone Simple Method to Unlock the Bootloader and Get Root on your HTC One S | AndroidSPIN

oh scotty idk whats wrong with this thing but i turned it off and turned it back on to the h boot n it doesnt say tampered anymore. so yeah idk whats wrong with that either

first, you need to find a rom. agentc13 can prolly recomend a good one,or you can try and find one from here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1789812

also, forget superboot. do you have the folder with the fastboot utility from unlocking?

1)download this recovery: Techerrata Downloads - Downloading openrecovery-twrp-2.3.1.0-ville.img
2)place it into your folder along with fastboot(c\android if you followed htcdev directions)
3)put your phone into fastboot(select fastboot from the hboot menu) and plug it in
4)open a cmd window,cahnge to fastboot directory
cd c:\android (if you followed htcdev directions)
5) enter:
fastboot devices
you should see your phones serial number. if so,then procede
6)enter:
fastboot boot recoveryname.img (if you dont change the name, then the exact command will be: fastboot boot openrecovery-twrp-2.3.1.0-ville.img )

what you will see now are a couple of fast status bars as the phone downloads, and boots the image. youll then see the splash screen, followed by twrp recovery.

once recovery starts, you should find an option to mount usb storage(either in mount,or advanced).

enable that, and you can transfer your rom to the phones internal sd(make sure you dont put it in internal storage).properly eject the phone from the pc,then go back to the main menu

7)using recovery menu options:
wipe data/facrtory reset
wipe cache
wipe dalvik cache
flash rom
reboot

that should get you bakc in business :)

"tampered" is triggered when you flash a custom recovery. im not sure why its disapearing, assuming you still have clockwork installed, but were not concerned about that for the moment. as long as youre still unlocked then youre good to go.

as an afterthot, when youre doing the above directions, enter fastboot getvar all after fastboot devices and before fastboot boot recoveryname.img

copy and paste that info here.

to copy in cmd: right click, click mark. highlight everything in white. hit enter.

paste here :)
