Root Stuck on CTmod 3.68

Whenever I flash a new ROM and reboot my phone it just gets stuck on the LG logo. That's flashing any ROM that is in these forums. So I do a nandroid restore and I'm back to where I left off on CTmod 3.68. That's not the problem, I love this ROM. But ever since I switched to this ROM I can't change my PRL with DFS tools because it keeps telling me "bad spc error" even though I know the MSL for my phone. So I was wanting to switch to a Stock ROM so that I can change my PRL with DFS.

Any ideas why i'm stuck on CTmod and can't push a different PRL with DFS while i'm on this ROM?

I'm also on ZVC baseband if that helps.
 
CTMod will not allow you to change the prl with DFS because it's not a stock based ROM. I use Marky Beats when using DFS. I don't even need to access the hidden menu. I just plug it in and select the phone, enter my MSL and follow the rest of the directions.

What does it tell you in CWM after you have installed the new ROM? Does it say that it installed successfully? Also, after you have installed the ROM, go to ADVANCED and select to reboot into recovery, then do a factory reset, then reboot.

Also, try downloading a new copy of the ROM you are trying to flash. The one you are using may be corrupt. Give Marky Beats a try.
 
It installs all the way through with MB ROM. But when I reboot it just hangs on the LG Logo. I'm going to try what you said.

Also, it may take a little while to boot up. It should not take any longer than 10 minutes though.
 
I can't flash any ROM at all for some reason. I've tried them all. I can't even flash CTmod 3.68 again. And I would like to do that because I would like my EQ back and now for some reason the stock music player says mp3's aren't supported by my phone. WTF?

I've attached a couple photos of what my CWM looks like with the ROM error.

I can't flash any ROM at all. I can only do a restore from my nandroid backup. I've tried them all. And my hotspot is the only way I can get online :( I have pictures of my CWM when the ROMS fail to install.
 
I've turned signature verification on and tried to install the ROM and i've also tried installing a ROM with signature verification turned off and still nothing will install. I'm downloading your nandroid backup right as we speak TryingToRoot. Thanks for your help guys.
 
hey bro, i noticed in your photos you're trying to install from sub-directories. my CWM does the same shit, i gotta copy ANY ROM to the root of my SD card. no problem with sound files (beats audio drivers) or themes...just ROMS. give that a shot.
 
No i'm not trying to install via update.zip. I've always been able to install from sub-directories, any advice helps so thank you. But I tried putting them on the root of the SD card. Still no go. But last night I put some ROMS on a different SD card. It let me flash MBv2 and I flashed a different PRL successfully which is what I wanted to do in the first place. Then it let me flash CTmod3.68. So I was happy, I booted into CTmod and it was being very buggy. So I tried re-flashing it and ran into the same problem. CWMR keeps doing the same thing AGAIN the pictures described above. I'm at a loss lol. I'm so damn frustrated right now. I don't know why it keeps telling me the ROMS are bad when I try to install them. So now i'm trying a 3rd SD card. And i'm at my parent's house because they live in town and have reliable high speed internet. All I have is my hotspot lol. So yeah, I don't know wtf is going on with my phone? You think maybe the memory in it (I don't know whether it's nand or what) may be bad? Or is my CWMR corrupted? I mean I'm no noob to Android devices. This is my 5th one I own, and I've installed recoveries and custom ROMS on my friend's and families devices. The Marquee just seems to hate me at the moment. It is a cool phone though.
 
I'm going to try re-downloading the ROMS on my mom's laptop and see where it goes from there. You may be right about them being corrupted. I won't be able to rest until I fix this damn thing.
 
I put CTmod 3.68 on a 3rd SD card. CWMR installed it and I was able to boot into it. Strange. So do you think my other two micro sd cards are going bad?
 
your sdcard might be corrupt.

back everything up from your sdcard to your computer, on your phone go to Settings > Storage settings > Unmount SD card > Erase SD card, do a fresh download of a rom, place it on your card and see if it flashes right.

if you have another sdcard around you can try it out too, see if it works.
 
Yeah I formatted my 32gb micro from my phone so I could use it. I used a 2gb to flash CTmod and it worked great. I'm still getting some errors when I boot up CTmod. But at least my phone isn't bricked! That's really all I cared about. Thanks you so much for all your help. I'll let you guys know how it's running when I get all my apps re-installed.
 
I think you shouldn't use "apply update from sd card" menu, instead you should use the "install zip from sd card" menu.

Are any of y'all having 3G issues? Since I have been using 3.68 I have not had a 3G signal. I've been and still am searching for an answer but it never hurts to ask.

Found my answer in ROM][Sprint/Boost] CTMod 3.68 (06/27/12) post #27. I must have read right past it.
 
I didin't use apply update from SD card. But the 3rd SD card worked. I'm back on CTmod and my phone is working again. Thank you to everyone.
