I'm sorry we haven't got to you in time. :(

What are you trying to accomplish by zeroing out the esn and meid? Are you flashing to another carrier?

We have a few guides for flashing to metro or boost, I believe. let me see if I can locate them for you. :)

Ok, here they are:

http://androidforums.com/evo-4g-all-things-root/460035-evo-4g-boost-mobile-guide.html

http://androidforums.com/evo-4g-all...-evo-all-info-here-rom-metrogenmod-7-1-a.html

If you have any question on either method, just post up where you're stuck in that thread and someone will help out when they can. Again I'm sorry you waited so long for a response. :(

I really don't have any experience messing with the meid or the esn on my phone. I've stayed with Sprint, so I havent had a need to flash to another carrier. Have you checked out the guides I posted above?

Read the thread that applies to the carrier you are trying to flash to, and if you get stuck, post what you've done and what step you're stuck on. One of the members who has the experience with that process will undoubtedly step in and lend you a hand. :)

Once again I'm sorry you're having issues. :(

Yeah this website sucks when no one helps you out

Wow, you are joking, right? You wait a full few hours for a response to your question and conclude the website sucks? (I suppose you are less demanding than that other guy a few posts back who put in his phone number and asked for immediate telephone support from total strangers.)

First of all, you do not need the MEID locations and to zero them out, etc. Find the guide mentioned on here regarding the Evo 3D. You can do the Evo 4G the same way and save time. I don't know why that method is not in the tutorial on page 1 here.

Anyway, it involves opening EFS file explorer (which you have already when you downloaded QPST). You need to put in the MSL of the phone. If it is rooted already, you can just download MSL reader from the Android Market. When the phone is read in EFS file explorer you simply right click on the main folder and create a new one called /open sesame door (exactly as I have just written it with the slash, the spaces and all) Reboot the phone, restart EFS and you will see a new folder called nvm/num and you simply drag items 0 and 1943 to the desktop, edit those with a hex editor to make them all zeros and then delete the ones in the folder and drag back the zeroed copies from the desktop. Then go to QXDM and write your MEID. If you screw up or want to change to another MEID/ESN all you need do do is go back into the EFS, delete items 0 and 1943 and drag your zeroed ones from the desktop again. You can do this as many times as you like and when you get the hang of it, it will take a couple of minutes instead of the better part of an hour you will spend looking up memory locations and doing it the other way. Plus, you do not have to worry about the 0's "sticking" which appears to be your issue. And this works with any radio version you are currently using, so you do not need to flash to older radios just to match a list of MEID locations, nor do you have to use a hex editor to search for MEIDs and ESN's.

EDIT: On a related note for those still using the zeroing method you are trying, two other points. First, I recall that it turns out you do not have to zero out all the MEID locations, but only the two last ones. Some refer to these as the master locations. Next, there is a radio floating around out there that can be flashed which automatically has all zeros for the MEID. You simply flash that radio, write a new MEID/ESN, then flash another radio to use. Leaving both zip files on your SD card, you can write a new MEID every two minutes if you'd like. Then ##786# will reset the phone and Sprint/Boost will download the matching phone number, MSID, and all other info to your phone. The nai will even reflect who that MEID-PHONE number combo belongs to. However, do not even bother to try to commit fraud with this as Sprint is onto it and will not allow calls (Error 17). Nor will Sprint send a valid AAA password via this method, so you will not be able to use data either. Just FYI for those experimenting with Auto Activation.

Also, for all those suggesting Samsung Prevail as a donor, bear in mind you cannot use pay per minute and will have to pay for the monthly plan on Boost as well as the extra Android fee. The Sanyo Incognito is the ONLY donor I know of where you can go on a daily plan with the Evo and get 3G EVDO Rev. A speeds.

So, does this website still suck?

Ok so im flashing my phone to boost (evo 4g). First issue I had was rooting. It says that my firmware is too new. so i skipped that part simply because.my phone was already ob the right radio (2.15).

Now.!! I'm trying to zero out the meid and esn. I'm super new at this so please excuse my stupidity or lack of knowledge in this department.

I dont understand how to zero it out. Am I supposed to go throygh every single number and find the ones that match mine and zero them or just the first line.?? The guide i have has pictures but I'm guessing they are wrong or the guide is incomplete. Can someone please dumb it down for me or send me some pics so i can see exactly what im supposed ro do.?? I've googled and read every forum I could think of. asked people who flash phones (they didnt want to help of course..had to pay a few)..i really need the help/education.

u made it sound easy .. but i cant drag 0 and 1943 to the desktop without getting an error errro code (222) invalid argument.
im having the same problem it is very frustrating!!! anyone find a solution?

*edit* i found the solution to fixing this issue.. download and use QPST 2.7 Build 366 instead of build 355 :) cheers

This is a genius post, been trying to find an easy way to zero out MEID for almost a year. I knew how to do it the whole time was too stupy to realize. The information is above. Literally takes 1 minute, no need to downgrade baseband, or use specific baseband, no searching needed and no qmat needed. PM if you need more information.. Again all the information is in the above post, just hidden!!

for some strange reason a couple of months back i lost my flash somehow (phone just boot-looped, so i reinstalled my ROM (Negalite Blurom) and was Re-Sprinted as it were)

Any ways i havent had a decent PC in a while (or rather NO PC...) so i havent played around with re-flashing.. (just used my donor phone, and carried my 3vo as a mini mini-tablet)

I am once again following all steps to a "T", but when i get to the EFS part, i create the new directory, and use ADB to reboot.

HERE is my issue..

My phone get about halfway into boot, and just restarts, effectively killing the open sesame door directory...

this has happened EACH and EVERY time i have tried. (been stuck trying solutions for hour now...)

What can i do??

i am currently on rooted ICS Stock ROM 2.95.651.6

welcome to AF!!!!!!!

so you have the evo 3d? if so then you need to go to either:
(CDMA) EVO 3D - All Things Root - Android Forums
or
(GSM) EVO 3D - All Things Root - Android Forums

this is the og evo root forum....just an fyi

Thanks, and I know. But since the method is basically the same, and the topic is basically what I'm going though... I though I'd start here... Anyways that double reset is really the only thing I can think of that is keeping me from finalizing my flash. Has anyone ever experienced that with either the OG4G, or.the 3VO???

Hey im stuck on the zero out method i cant drag the numbers from the "nvm" foilder..i flashed htc evo 3d to cricket ..please help!!!
