Help Stupid black spot on screen in dark. Should I bother trying to replace?

Got my galaxy s3 the other day for the black friday special at bestbuy. It is the SGH-i747. Everything was great until when I was going through settings and such I noticed that black dot when I was on a black/dark page. It is a pea sized black dot a little below the center of the screen.

I have heard most of these models have it so is it even worth trying to replace?

Never heard of this before. Does it get in the way of anything? Sounds like a fault to me

I have them too. A bunch of specks here and there that are only noticeable when video was loading. It didn't bother me even when I first saw it.

its a byproduct of the AMOLED manufacturing process apparently...its going to effect every phone differently...my phone has about 3 about pencil tip sized dots on it...which is VERY good compared to others i have seen...

best way to check your screen...is hold a finger over the camera lens and take a picture...now close yourself in a room that is COMPLETELY dark with no light...turn your screen brightness all the way up and display the picture you just took....

you will see them....and then you'll wish you never took my advice to look for them...lol

you SHOULD only notice them on completely dark screens at night...not during the day, or normal usage...if they are noticeable during normal usage then you might want to get it replaced...or if they are bad enough that its very noticeable during video playback or something...

but chances are the replacement device will also have the issue...just hopefully not as much..

Hey guys,

I am also having the same issue with my phone. there are a bunch of black spots on the bottom left corner of the screen.
Two of the spots are very big. The spots are noticeable only in complete darkness and in dark screen.

We can easily find the spots while we are charging the phone when the phone is switched off. Just hide the battery icon which is in the middle of the screen with your fingers and look elsewhere in the screen to find it out.
