Help Stupid noob question

No question is stupid my friend, We have heard all types, and none of them are stupid and yours is far from being a stupid question

you do not have to data wipe to accept the OTA

you can if you want, but its not needed.

if you root and install the rooted ota then you have to data wipe.

Thank you. One reason I thought about it is that I had to change my GMail PW. But I have yet to figure out how to do that on the phone, so nothing sync's.

How do I change the Google PW on the phone?? :confused:

on your main screen
hit the menu button
settings
accounts and sync
select your gmail account
remove it
and add it back
it should prompt you for your new pw ^_^

I tried that. It won't let me delete that account. It says the only way to remove it is by doing a hard reset.
 
are you rooted? if you are install titanium backup
backup all current apps
not system data
just apps
then do a hard reset
then reinstall titanium backup
and its going to be aggrivating
but restore all apps through titanium that you need and restore data to the apps you want it restored to
 
yeah, if you were rooted, you can save all your app data and saved game data, but your not, so you will lose it all, being rooted is the way to go with this phone lol
 
micallen since your not rooted im moving this thread to the Droid X side, this is the all things root, i will leave an expiring redirect for 1 day so no worries it will just be on the main dx page
 
I don't know how, but the situation resolved itself. GMail account is good again on the phone. :)
AND I'm running Gingerbread :) :)

lol if this was a service and was based off how many you helped deteremined pay, alot of us would be rich, but i wonder who would have more money... possibly steven lol
