Root Stupid phone

Not a great title but its how I feel right now.

I deleted over 100 mbs to, games I want but take too much space, now I'm trying to download twitter from the play store and am getting error message saying insufficient memory.

According to app2sd I have

108.44mb available on phone
81.98mb available on SD card.

Twitter is only about 6mb.

How is there insufficient space?

I think there's been some kind of mix up. I wanted a smart phone and got a stupid phone.:(

I've never had the hydro but I experienced the same on my gs3 when I had 8+gigs free.

What I did to straighten it out was clear the cache+data of Google play store and Google play services followed by a reboot.

That fixed it for me, hope this works for you.

Yeah I'm rooted. Used Poot, Minstro2 and Superuser. No PC required. There's a thread here somewhere that tells how to root with Poot.

I meant I need library computer to backup files to USB thumb drive.

Ohh you could just as easily use tb to back up to your sd card :)

Tell me how to wipe. I thought I would have to use tb (which i have already) to backup then copy backups to thumb drive so I wouldn't lose them.

Might have fixed it. I cleared the data in settings. Also disabled data statistics. Finally was able to download twitter. Funny thing is I could download before but couldn't install. I also uninstalled another app I really didn't need. That cleared up another 5mb or so. I'm gonna try to download another app about that size to see what happens. Fingers crossed.:D

Success! I just reinstalled the same app that I deleted before installing twitter. I think its fixed. For now anyway. I'm still going to go for a replacement phone though. Too many bugs in this one. Apps crash all the time. Last night the whole phone just crashed. Truthfully I don't think its anything I did. I'm rooted but I'm always very careful with what i mess with and never alter anything without making a backup first. That was my reason for rooting in the first place. So I could use titanium. I have taken the SD card out without first unmounting it a few times. Didn't know. Just figured out correct way by exploring system settings. Also tried unmounting and remounting it then rebooting but that did nothing. Least its working for now.

Well, you have to have real small fingers.

I read somewhere that the Hydro is different and your supposed to unmount the card before taking it out.

So your saying taking the battery out is equivalent to unmounting the SD?

Short lived success. Its doing it again. Over 300mb available and can't download 6mb app. Tried all the usual fixes nothing works. What should I do?

Im saying if the battery is out, the phone is off, and aint nothing mounted if the phone aint running.

OK, I think I figured it out. Must be some of the internal storage (about 100 mb) is not actually usable. I moved everything I could to the card. Seems to have fixed problem.
