Root Suggestions for a EVO4G rom

My opinion(don't go by my opinion everyone else here knows what they are actually talking about) as far as best, smoothest, ROM and it's aosp like you wanted is decks reloaded. I will probably not change ROMS anytime soon from that. I'm also a very big fan of MIUI.us ICS builds and they are very different from most roms. And Cyanogen is always a good one

MIUI is a different sort of ROM if you aren't used to flashing different things. So is Decks reloaded. MikG is based on sense so it will look like what you are used to, but have a lot of new bells and whistles that you can't get on the stock EVO ROM
Four Korners ROM is also wayyyy out there because it allows you to put apps int he corners of the screen for easy access.

There are a lot of ROMS out there and everyone has different taste. If you want something with all the flash that Sense ROMS have then You may want to look at Swagster or even Some of the other ROMs out I think Capt Throwback is working on a Sense ROM with the latest update 5.07
Then there are the AOSP ROMs that have been coming out lately. Team Dirt has done both CM9 and Decks, MUIU is kicking up a lot of positive attention, and of course CM has 7.2 and 9 out now.
All of these will depend on what your looking for. Some may be close others closer.
