Sunken in power on/off button

The power button on my phone is starting to sink in a little. Has anyone else had this problem? If so, does it get worse or sink in a little and stop. Should I take my phone in as I do have the insurance? Thanks

It probably has to do with the screens not being secured well enough. Sounds like the start of a much worse problem. I would take it to the sprint store.

If you have insurance, and thats your ONLY problem with the phone, imo, ride it out, unless its that big of an issue for you right now. Your insurance isnt going anywhere, and as people have stated countless times you risk getting another phone with added issues. If it gets to where you cant push it, or it bothers you that much that you're willing to take the risk, deffinately exchange it. Just imo!

*@BKBitar - What makes you associate the screen not being secured & the power button sinking? Never seen anything about the 2 being related, thanks!

Well I just figured with all the screens having problems that that could potentially be a reason. Since it might not be firmly in place it could be moved, thus causing that sinking feeling of motion. It was a guess at best though.

If the screen was moving, you'd notice it when you look at your phone. I doubt it has to do with the screen moving.

I was sent a replacement phone from sprint due to my light leakage. When I pulled it out of the box, I immediately noticed the power button was sunk in way more than the one I had. I literally had to use my fingernail to push it. And since we have to hit that button every single time we use the phone, I can only imagine how worse it will get. I sent that one back, and got another way that was better. So it definetly is a problem that HTC lets slip though their "quality control".

This doesn't solve the problem ultimately but use these two apps indicated in this thread below and you'll hardly ever have to use the power button except for power off\on (i.e. total shutdown of phone) situations. You'll get more miles outta that power button.

not to mention the app developer got some feedback from posters and indicated he'll make the requested change.

Thanks vgsantiago! Great apps I had no clue existed. Very handy and now I don't really have to worry about my power button. I will start worrying about my volume rocker buttons tho. I thought those buttons felt kinda fragile from the get go
